One-year-old girl dies after being hit by ute

A one-year-old girl has died after being struck by a car at a home in the NSW Hunter Region, with police investigating the tragic incident.

A toddler has tragically died after being struck by a car in NSW’s Hunter Region on Tuesday evening.

The one year old girl was hit by a Toyota Utility and police were called to a home on Lloyd George Grove in Tanilba Bay, Port Stephens, about 5.40pm.

The toddler was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition where she later died.

The driver was a 25-year-old man who was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
