Police have released images of a mystery woman whose disappearance from a Blue Mountains walking track triggered a land and air search.
The woman, whose identity is unknown, was last seen on a walking track near Kanimbla Rd at Blackheath about 9.30am on Tuesday.
Officers were dispatched to the area after concerns were raised to police about the woman’s welfare owing to her “distressed state”.

The images show the woman in a white hooded jumper and khaki jacket less than three hours before she disappeared.
She is described as being caucasian in appearance, about 160cm tall and with mousy hair.
