An Australian man is fighting for life in hospital after a motorcycle accident in Bali.

The man, Dylan, was holidaying in Bali when the accident happened on October 29, his family said in a statement to a fundraising appeal.

“His injuries are life threatening and extensive and he’s currently on life support and needing critical brain surgery,” the family said.

“He has a large blood clot putting pressure on his brain that needs to be removed.

“The surgery is $40,000 so any help to pay for this is appreciated.”

In addition to surgery costs, the family asked for donors to help with repatriation costs.

“Dylan may be able to come home after this surgery and that would be a huge positive step for him and his family,” the family statement reads.

“But bringing him home will cost between $50,000 to $100,000 so your donations to help with this mean the world to us.

“Please help if you can. We desperately want our beautiful kind son and brother home and alive.”

The fundraiser has so far secured $136,465 from a target of $120,000.

One anonymous donor contributed $40,000.

In an update from Monday, the family said Dylan had been repatriated to Australia.

“The flight went smoothly and the teams in Denpasar and Australia were truly exceptional in getting him home,” father Steven Brown wrote.

“While it feels amazing to be back, we’re forever grateful to the staff in Denpasar who, without a doubt, saved Dylan’s life.

“He’s now being evaluated for the best possible care, is comfortable, and though still critical, doing well.”
