April 19, 11am: A teen is in custody after he allegedly indecently assaulted a woman sightseeing at Uluru on Friday.

About 3pm NT Police responded to reports a boy had stolen a woman’s bag and mobile phone as she was walking along the base walk around Uluru.

When police attended the scene, the woman alleged that she was also indecently assaulted during the incident.

Police from Yulara subsequently arrested a 16-year-old boy.

He currently remains in custody and was expected to be charged by NT Police on Saturday.

Woman found outside NT servo after vicious alleged stabbing

April 18, 9am: A woman was repeatedly stabbed and left for dead on a suburban road in Alice Springs overnight on Thursday.

Watch Commander acting senior sergeant Andrew Dunne said from about 9.30pm, police received multiple calls of a woman lying on the ground in front of a Gap Rd service station.

Police immediately responded to the calls and identified the woman, aged 24, had received multiple stab wounds to her back and shoulders.

Closed Circuit Television footage was reviewed and police identified a male known to the woman as the likely offender.

Watch Commander Dunne said police had conducted multiple patrols of the area and were able to locate and arrest the alleged offender, 29, later that evening.

The woman was taken by St John Ambulance to Alice Springs Hospital where she remains in a serous but stable condition.

Dogs sniff out 1.8 kgs of cannabis following suspicious fire

April 17, 4pm: A whopping 1.8 kilograms of cannabis has been seized from the ruins of a building which police were already investigating.

About 5.10pm on Wednesday, police received reports of a fire at a residence on Woods Terrace in Braitling.

The fire was extinguished by firefighters, who confirmed the premises was unoccupied at the time of the blaze.

No injuries were reported.

However, a crime scene was declared and a fire investigator attended the site.

While an inspection of the building was being carried out, police identified traces of what they believed to be cannabis.

A search warrant was executed on the property, with drug detection dogs Yeva and Callen called in to clear the premises.

It was then the pair sniffed out 1.8 kilograms of cannabis which has since been seized by authorities.

No arrests have been made and investigations remain ongoing.

Stolen car allegedly used in Territory grocery store ram raid

April 17: NT Police are searching for four people alleged to have ram raided a business in a stolen car before stealing multiple items inside.

Police received a report of an alarm activation at a grocery store on Lyndavale Drive in Larapinta about 4.05am Thursday.

Police allege a group of four unknown offenders used a white Toyota HiLux to ram the front roller door of the business to gain access to the building.

The HiLux is alleged to have been stolen earlier in the night.

The alleged offenders stole a quantity of items, including cigarettes, before fleeing the scene in the vehicle.

Investigations are ongoing and police have called for anyone with information to make contact on 131 444 and quote reference P25105093.

84-year-old allegedly threatened with hammer in home invasion

April 15, 6.30am: Two men are on the run after allegedly threatening an 84-year-old with a hammer in an aggravated burglary.

NT Police are calling for information in relation to the incident at an Alice Springs camping ground on Monday morning.

At 5.40am police received a report of an alleged aggravated burglary at the Gap Rd camp.

It was alleged two men, one of whom was armed with a hammer, broke into a caravan occupied by the elderly victim.

The pair allegedly stole cash and alcohol before jumping a fence and fleeing the area on foot.

The 84-year-old was not injured during the incident.

Call for information after burglary of health clinic

April 14, 10:10pm: NT police are calling for information after a health clinic was burgled in Alice Springs.

Late on Monday night, police received a report of an unlawful entry at a health clinic on Gap Road in The Gap.’

The burglars allegedly gained access through the roof of the building and caused a substantial amount of damage inside.

Private security had attended the location after an alarm was activated and reported the matter to police.

Investigations are ongoing and it’s unknown if any items were stolen.

Call for information after car stolen from service station

April 14, 7:20pm: Police are calling for information after a car was stolen from a service station in Tennant Creek.

It is alleged the owner of the vehicle, a blue 2004 Toyota Avalon sedan, was inside the service station and left the car unsecured.

An unknown offender then stole the vehicle, proceeding to drive in a dangerous manner around Tennant Creek, collecting several passengers before police successfully deployed tyre deflation devices.

The vehicle was abandoned in bushland on the outskirts of town as the offenders fled on foot.

Investigations are ongoing, and police are calling for information from the public to identify the driver and the other occupants of the vehicle.

Three on the run after car stolen, crashed

April 14, 5pm: Investigators are calling for information after a car was stolen in Alice Springs and crashed in front of its rightful owners.

At 10.25am on Monday police received a report of a car theft in Gillen.

It was alleged that while three men were working at a residential unit block on Bloomfield St, three men allegedly armed with a knife approached them, made threats and demanded the keys to one of their cars.

The alleged offenders stole the car and fled the scene.

The workers followed in a separate car, and witnessed the stolen vehicle rolled over at the intersection of the Stuart Hwy and Tanami Rd.

The trio in the stolen car fled west on foot into nearby scrubland, it was alleged.

Police then received reports from a nearby home of another car being stolen.

Members from Strike Force Viper, the Dog Operations Unit and general duties were deployed, and investigations remain ongoing with reference number P25101993.

Call for information after car stolen and business ransacked

April 14, 3pm: Police are hunting for four alleged offenders after a car was stolen and business ransacked in Alice Springs over the weekend.

At 7.10am on Saturday police received a report of a break in at a business on Briggs Dr in Connellan.

At about 1am that morning, a white LDV G10 van with NT registration CC 34 KM drove up to the business.

That van was later identified as having been stolen from an address on the Ross Highway.

Four people exited the can and jumped a security fence, gaining access to the back of the building by allegedly smashing through the glass panels of the door.

It was alleged they caused further damage once inside, and stole a debit card, cash and keys to a car that did not run.

The group allegedly left the scene in the stolen van and used the stolen debit card to make a purchase at a convenience store.

The van was later recovered after it was found abandoned in East Side on Sunday.

The alleged offenders remain on the run and police are asking anyone with information to come forward, quoting reference P25100044.
