Police charge motorbike rider after catching him allegedly doing 161km/h on busy Sydney highway

Police have charged a man for allegedly driving more than 60km/h over the speed limit in Sydney. His estimated top speed was even higher.

A motorbike driver has been charged after police caught him allegedly driving more than 60km/h over the speed limit in Sydney’s north west.

Police conducting stationary speed enforcement duties on the M7 Motorway at Dean Park allegedly detected a white Kawasaki ZX1000R travelling 161km/h about 1.30am Sunday.

The speed limit on that particular stretch of road is 100km/h.

A motorbike driver has been charged after police caught him allegedly driving 61km/h over the speed limit in Sydney’s north west.

Police followed the bike as it reached an estimated speed of 250km/h before stopping the man on the Sunnyholt Rd offramp.

The 21-year-old male rider was charged with exceeding a speed of more than 45km/h and driving recklessly or furiously speed manner dangerous.

Police seized the Jordan Springs man’s bike and suspended his licence.

He was issued a court attendance notice to appear at Blacktown Local Court in February.
