Paramedics rush man to hospital in critical condition after M4 crash in western Sydney

A man is in hospital in a critical condition following a horror multi-vehicle crash on a major city motorway.

A man is in hospital with critical injuries following a horror multi-vehicle crash in western Sydney.

Emergency services rushed to the crash on the M4 Motorway at Eastern Creek about 2.40pm.

It is believed four vehicles were involved in a head-on smash-up near Reservoir Road.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated two of the drivers, a man and a woman both in their 30s, at the scene.

“The male driver was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition with the female driver is being taken to Blacktown Hospital in a stable condition,” the police said on Monday evening.

“Two male drivers, aged 40 and 53, from the other vehicles were conveyed to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing.”

A CareFlight rescue crew was also deployed to the scene.

Photos from the scene show a smashed up black vehicle that has been cut in two.

The crash has created major traffic delays and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
