Mother killed in horror crash in Allendale North identified

Friends and family of a young mother have been left “shattered and empty” after the 25-year-old was killed in a fiery crash.

Heartbroken family and friends have paid tribute to a young mother who was killed in a fiery crash.

Taneasha Steer, 25, died when the car she was driving crashed into a tree on Marrabell Rd in Allendale, around 90km north of Adelaide on Monday night.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene at about 6.30pm where they found the Mitsubishi station wagon in a ditch after colliding with the tree.

Ms Steer was the sole occupant of the car. She died at the scene.

Her fiance Luke Andrews posted a heartbreaking message to his late partner on social media.

“I love you forever my beautiful girl,” he captioned a photo of their family.

Ms Steer also leaves behind an 18-month old son named Tatum.

Loved ones have expressed their heartbreak after losing the “gorgeous girl”.

“My heart is shattered, left feeling very empty...what a horrible world we live in,” one friend wrote.

“I’m in so much disbelief another beautiful soul taken way to soon. Rest easy Taneasha Steer thankyou for the laughs and always being up for a chat. You were loved by many,” another said.

An outpouring of grief has erupted over the 25-year-old’s death.

Ms Steer is the 107th life lost on South Australian roads this year.

Ms Steer’s brother-in-law has set up a GoFundMe to raise money to support her fiance and son in the wake of her death.

“I would like to share this to help my brother with the support of child care fees and to be able to give him time off work to be able to spend time with he’s 18month old baby boy Tatum,” Brayden Andrews wrote.

“To everyone who knew neash she was always the life of the party and brought so much joy to plenty of lives.”

The fundraiser has already recieved $2865 of its $5000 goal.

SA Police are examining the circumstances that led to the crash with major crash investigators currently on the case.

Ms Steer is the 107th life lost on South Australian roads in 2023 as the state records a horror year for traffic deaths.

There were just 66 deaths on the states roads at this time last year.

SA Police Commissioner Grant Stevens’ son Charlie was the 101st life lost in the state, with his death rocking the country and serving as a wakeup call for many.

Charlie died after he was struck by a car while out with friends celebrating Schoolies at Goolwa Beach on November 17. He died a day later in hospital,

Premier Peter Malinauskas called on motorists to focus on road safety in the wake of Charlie’s death, saying that “enough is enough”.

“The truth is, they are not alone in their trauma, their situation is all too devastatingly common,” he said of the Stevens.

“When you’re behind the wheel, it only takes a moment of inattention to end a life, or change one forever. We must recognise the significance of the responsibility we bear.”
