GM reveals the second Corvette concept car
America's most famous sports car has been transformed into an ultra-modern electric hypercar.
Chevrolet has revealed a dramatic new Corvette concept that hints at a bold electric future for the legendary nameplate.
Built by General Motors’ advanced design centre in Pasadena, the California Corvette is a one-off electric hypercar that blends classic Corvette heritage with a distinctly modern design.

It’s a sleek, all-electric, one-of-a-kind hypercar that embodies automotive design, drawing inspiration from racing simulators while maintaining the iconic values of Corvette.
Although there are no plans for production, the California Corvette offers a bold glimpse into how the brand’s design and performance language could evolve in the era of electric vehicles.
“Our Advanced Design teams are dedicated to shaping the future, driving innovation, and exploring what’s possible,” said Bryan Nesbitt, vice president of global design.
“Southern California has been at the heart of automotive and design culture for a century, and GM has had a deep design presence here for nearly 40 years.
“We wanted to ensure that this concept was developed through that SoCal lens, but with a global and futuristic outlook.”
It’s a bold statement that points to where GM imagines the Corvette could go next.
The concept features a wide stance and low, tapered cabin, with dramatic proportions that echo the Corvette’s racing legacy.
Underneath, a carbon-fibre tub and a tunnelled underbody work in conjunction with a T-shaped battery pack to optimise aerodynamics and enable a low seating position, providing better handling and efficiency.
It features 21-inch front wheels and 22-inch rear wheels, with aggressive aerodynamic elements integrated into the body.

The interior is minimalist and functional. Displays are built into the car’s structure and designed with a furniture-like finish.
An augmented-reality head-up display provides only essential driving information, reinforcing the car’s focus on high-performance driving.
This is the second of three concepts revealed this year, with the final one expected to come at the end of 2025.
GM is developing three Corvette concept cars to explore design ideas for the future of the Corvette brand.

The first electric Corvette Concept debuted in April earlier this year and came from the company’s design team in the UK.
“The California team has now delivered a complementary study that honours Corvette’s legendary performance, while infusing it with their own distinctive vision,” Mr Nesbitt said.
