When police officers attended a Netley home for a routine check, they did not expect to uncover a 42-year-old man’s alleged drug lab – now he has faced court.

A man has faced court after police accidentally stumbled across an alleged drug lab at his Netley home.
Wade Marius Cloosterman, 42 faced Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday following a welfare check which ended in a surprise discovery.
Police allege that officers attended Cloosterman’s home at Ansett Ave, Netley on August 14 in response to a call to check on his welfare.
When patrols arrived, they found the front door of the home open.
Officers entered but could not find anyone inside.
After searching the home, officers allegedly found chemicals and glassware consistent with a clandestine lab.
Cloosterman was allegedly located nearby and taken to hospital for a medical assessment.
Detectives from the Drug and Organised Crime Task Force processed the scene and arrested Cloosterman on August 15.
He was released on bail and charged with manufacturing a controlled drug and possessing prescribed equipment to manufacture controlled drug.
In Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday, Magistrate Simon Smart adjourned Cloosterman’s charges until February 16 for a hearing.
Cloosterman is yet to enter any pleas.
Police are urging people to continue reporting suspicious behaviour to break down the drug trade after a spike in the number of drug labs uncovered across South Australia in recent months.
