SA Dog Rescue is hosting a paw-fect day out on Sunday to celebrate 15 years of rescuing and rehoming pets in need.

The birthday bash will take place at the South Semaphore foreshore (between Bower Rd and Arthur St) from 10am to 3pm.

There will be a variety of pet-related stalls, facepainting and a jumping castle as well as various dog competitions including best dressed and most similar dog and owner.

SA Dog Rescue rehomes hundreds of dogs and cats each year, many of which have been saved from being put down at the pound, abandoned at the vet or surrendered by people who can no longer look after them.

The organisation’s vet bills can exceed $200,000 annually.

Tina Williams has been a foster carer for SA Dog Rescue for the past 18 months, caring for 12 dogs in that time.

Her current fosters, 10-year-old brother and sister keeshonds Bounty and Maggie, will be at the celebration along with other SA Dog Rescue animals available for adoption.

Bounty and Maggie are a bonded pair and are looking for a home together.

“If I had my way I would fill my home with such beautiful souls,” Ms Williams said.
