South Australia’s best cosmetic injector for 2023, said the honour was ‘bitter sweet’ after years being named runner-up.

Petta Day of Enhance Skin Cosmetic Clinic, Largs Bay has been a staple in our quest to find SA’s best as a part of our ‘best of’ series.

Despite finally reaching the top, Mrs Day was humbled to learn of the award.

“I’m no where near ‘the best’ we are so lucky to have so many amazing clinics in South Australia,” she said.

“So many of us have been in this industry for years and it’s great to have so many people recognised.”

Obsessed with watch first aid videos as a little girl, Mrs Day career lead her into the nursing field, where she worked as a mental health nurse in emergency departments.

“I was working in emergency departments and my husband hated that every night I was potentially in a very serious situation.

“I was doing that all day, everyday.”

After a while, Mrs Day set her sights on her next adventure where she truly felt she could make a difference.

“After looking into it, I really felt like this could be where I could really help people while still having that work life balance,” she said.

“I always wanted to run my own business, I wanted to run things my way and wanted to be able to give my clients the time, the love, the counselling, the therapy session.

“It was so bitter sweet when I got the email on R U OK day too, so many people come in and we’re able to make them feel good, mental health is just so important.

“You get people come in and they want their revenge body and they want to feel good about themselves.”

While the Enhance Skin Cosmetic Clinic has grown with Mrs Day taking on a new nurse, she says the key to a good life is the best of both worlds.

“I do wish this industry was more affordable for everybody so they could have this feel good feeling, that’s one thing I would love,” she said.

“I’m very content with the business as it sits now, we are near the beach, I’m not over worked and I can take days off for my kids.”
