A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a former nightclub owner with outlaw motorcycle gang history after he failed to show up to court to answer drug driving charges.

Mark Gerard Zerella, 46, is charged with one count of drug driving but missed his latest hearing at Port Adelaide Magistrates Court.

Mr Zerella – who has been involved with the Hell’s Angels – was drug tested on Hughes Street, Woodville, on February 19 and found to be positive for methamphetamine.

He was identified on the spot from previous police photos.

Magistrate Paul Foley approved a warrant for his arrest after the no-show.

Mr Zerella was also caught drink driving on King William Street in November 2016.

He was once a shareholder and licensee of former Adelaide east end nightclub Church.

He was removed from his directorship in 2007 after police began investigating the nightclub over concerns it had been taken over by the Hell’s Angels.

The Licencing Court later banned him from holding a liquor licence because of his membership of the Hell’s Angels, which he joined in July 2006.

He reportedly left the gang a year later.
