Marion Council’s new chief executive Adrian Skull is a familiar face in the chambers

MARION has announced its new chief executive — the former boss was one of the state’s highest paid council CEOs.

MARION Council has announced Adrian Skull as its new chief executive.

Mr Skull will leave his position as Yankalilla Council’s chief executive to take on the role in August.

He was also a former director at Marion Council.

Deputy Mayor Luke Hutchinson announced Mr Skull’s appointment today.

“Over 32 years in local government and business Adrian has shown outstanding leadership and was the logical choice to take the reins at Marion,” Mr Hutchinson said.

“Adrian was the director of City Development at Marion Council for three and a half years and went on to Yankalilla where he proved to be adept at doing more with less for the community.

“He has demonstrated he is passionate and energetic about getting results.

“On behalf of the council, I want to welcome Adrian back to Marion and am confident the city will continue to thrive under his leadership.”

Mr Skull will be appointed on a three-year contract from August 31.

Former chief executive Mark Searle stepped down in February after almost 15 years.

He was the highest paid suburban council boss in the state with a package totalling $308,828.

Mr Skull’s has been confirmed as $272,610.
