A Mansfield Park man has spoken of his terror when he woke to allegedly find an intruder in his home in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Taperoo man Remis Davis Anderson, 18, has since faced court over the incident charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass.
Srinivas Reddy told The Messenger he won’t easily forget the moment he woke to find a man in his room.
“I’ll remember ... for the next 10 years,” he said.
Mr Reddy, 25, had fallen asleep while watching a movie on his laptop – and he woke in the early hours of this morning to find an intruder in his Murchison Street home.
“I woke up and he was standing right in front of me,” he said.
“After seeing him, he just froze for a second, then ran out of the room.”
A number of patrols set up cordons and the suspect was tracked, with the aid of police dog Havoc, and arrested.
Police will allege he had items on him that belonged to the victim.
Anderson was charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass and appeared in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday via video link.
A lawyer for Anderson said the defendant had only turned 18 in May, had no adult offending, was visibly upset at being remanded in custody and his girlfriend would act as guarantor for his bail application.
Magistrate Stefan Metanomski ordered a bail enquiry report.
The matter will return to court next week.
