A young woman who allegedly neglected her pets, including a dog found dead in the backyard, is just one of many South Australians facing animal cruelty charges this month.

A woman who allegedly neglected three of her pets, including a dog who was found dead in her backyard, is one of the RSPCA cases before the courts this month.
The Semaphore woman appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday, charged with three counts of ill-treatment of an animal.
RSPCA allege a dog was found emaciated and deceased in a backyard, as well as a cat and a kitten found inside a unit in squalid living conditions.
In the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday, Tim Dipden, for the woman, asked for the charges to be adjourned so he could obtain funding.
The charges were adjourned until May.
There are several other RSPCA cases before a South Australian court this month.
A woman and her ex-husband will appear in Elizabeth Magistrates Court after dead birds were allegedly found in the kitchen of a rescue service in “extreme” conditions.
Alison Daniels, 39, and Paul Fagan-Clark, 44, are charged with 20 counts of ill treatment of an animal.
A third party, Not The End Of The Road Animal Rescue in Para Hills – of which Ms Daniels is treasurer – is also charged with 20 offences.
The charges relate to 17 domestic cats, rabbits, pigeons, cockatoos, lorikeets, corellas, magpies, galahs, possums, a water dragon lizard, puppies, canaries, a duck and an owl kept in “unsanitary and squalid conditions” between April 11 and August 11 last year.
A woman and her daughter will appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court in relation to their alleged neglect and underfeeding of six horses on a property in the Mid-Murray region.
A 31-year-old man faces cruelty charges in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court for allegedly forcing a female dog that had recently given birth to run a significant distance while riding his bike, resulting in alleged harm to the dog.
The man is also alleged to have physically assaulted the dog, causing it further harm.
A northern suburbs couple aged in their mid-20s will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court, charged with failure to provide appropriate and adequate food to two Siberian Huskies, one of which was found deceased and the other in a state of extreme emaciation.
A 48-year-old woman is charged with failure to provide a dog with appropriate and adequate food and water and being reckless about causing serious harm to the dog.
After being seized by SA Police officers, the dog was euthanised by a vet due to its extremely emaciated condition.
A 59-year-old man will face the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on six charges of ill-treatment of an animal in relation to three dogs.
One of the dogs, a rottweiler, was found injured and in critical condition and was humanely euthanised by a vet.
