Four men accused of raping a teenager they met near a popular CBD nightclub are set to face trial later this year.

Four men who allegedly gang raped a teenager they met on a CBD street in a suburban home will face trial later this year – with all men out on bail.

Victorian Sadam Hussein Issak, 23, was the last of the alleged rapists to be granted home detention bail on Thursday during a District Court hearing.

Judge Jo-Anne Deuter heard that Mr Issak had been in Adelaide only a few days prior to the alleged offending, and prosecutors argued he could pose a flight risk – and may know where the alleged victim lived.

The court heard the girl did not know any of the men prior to any alleged offending, and the court heard she was concerned about her safety as one of the men drove her home.

It was further submitted that no attempts to contact the victim had been made.

Counsel for Mr Issak told the court imposing orders would protect the alleged victim, and his client had the presumption of innocence until proven guilty at trial.

Her Honour ordered his release on home detention to a South Australian address, and ordered he not communicate with any of his co-accused.

The court heard the remaining three men – Bedhane Bekele, 28 of Salisbury, Besufikad Haile, 24 of Bordertown and Mohammed Abdulahi, 28 of Oaklands Park – were all granted home detention bail separately.

All four men have pleaded not guilty to multiple counts of rape and engaging in sexual intercourse without consent and will stand trial in May this year.

The group was arrested after allegedly raping an 18-year-old girl in June 2023, who had been out clubbing with a friend at Zhivago earlier this year before being taken to a Western Suburbs home.

The trial is scheduled to start in May.
