A man who stole more than $60,000 of sporting memorabilia from high-profile Adelaide businessman Robert Gerard has faced court on new charges.
Carl Lindblom, of Taperoo, faced the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday on theft and driving charges, including driving under the influence of methylamphetamines and stealing parts from a heritage-listed cannon.
In January 2017, Lindblom, 50, was charged for stealing sporting memorabilia belonging to Mr Gerard – one of Adelaide’s richest men and a prominent Liberal Party donor – from a Cavan warehouse.
The latest charges relate to a number of incidents starting in August 2019, when Mr Lindblom was allegedly caught driving with methylamphetamine in his system on Semaphore Rd, Exeter.
In September, he was caught driving disqualified on Victoria Rd, Osborne.
Police also allege Lindblom was found in possession of two bags of tools, including an angle grinder and welding equipment, with the intent to use them to commit a crime in April 2020.
He was also charged with the theft of metal parts from a heritage-listed cannon.
Lindblom pleaded guilty to all charges and will face court again in September.
