Mail Medallist: Jakob Thomson (Two Wells)
Leading goalkicker: Ben Cannizzaro (Two Wells) – 51
Major ins: Jordan Clements (Kimba to Mallala), Aaron Marchioro (CBC OC to United)
Major outs: Jayden Goodfellow (Angle Vale to Barossa District), Todd Miles (Hamley Bridge to Barossa District), Leigh Ryswyk (Angle Vale to Barossa District)
Clubs: Angle Vale, Balaklava, Hamley Bridge, Hummocks/Watchman, Mallala, Two Wells, United, Virginia
Two Wells will be well-primed to launch a bid at a fifth straight premiership this season having retained a number of key players, while 2024 runner-up Angle Vale faces a challenge to get back to the big dance after losing names such as Jayden Goodfellow and former North Adelaide gun Leigh Ryswyk.
The addition of Eyre Peninsula superstar and dual Mail Medallist Jordan Clements to an already strong Mallala side could make the Magpies a major contender in the competition, while Balaklava, led by star onballer Lachlan Michael, will also be a threat again.
Jarred Allmond’s United side could be one of the big surprises of the season after a solid off-season of recruitment.
PREDICTIONS
Magpies pip Roosters in big dance
Topping Two Wells will yet again be a tall order this season but Mallala could emerge as a major contender this season after the arrival of Clements.
An outfit which is no stranger to premierships, the Magpies could be very capable of causing an upset.
Allmond wins top honour
Former Woodville-West Torrens gun Jarred Allmond has been dominant since taking over as United playing-coach in 2023, winning the club best and fairest for two consecutive season.
The next step for the star leader is to take out the league medal and he should head into this season as one of the favourites.
Tigers claw into finals
United has struggled for consecutive seasons on the ladder but showed gradual improvement.
After the additions of the Marchioro brothers and with Allmond returning for another season, the time could be right for a finals push.
PREDICTED LADDER
1. Two Wells
2. Mallala
3. Balaklava
4. HWE
5. United
6. Angle Vale
7. Hamley Bridge
8. Virginia
PLAYERS TO WATCH
AARON MARCHORIO

Allmond should remain the Tigers’ major star but the addition of former CBC OC gun Aaron Marchioro will not be lost on opposition sides.
A talented player around the ground who can win his own footy and also hit the scoreboard.
LACHLAN MICHAEL
(Balaklava)
Balaklava will be looking to bounce back big time this season after missing out on last year’s grand final and star onballer Lachy Michael has the ability to be the catalyst.
A strong player in the contest who does everything well.
BAROSSA, LIGHT AND GAWLER FA
2024 grand final: Willaston 11.14 (80) d Angaston 12.5 (77)

Clubs: Angaston, Barossa District, Freeling, Gawler Central, Kapunda, Nuriootpa, South Gawler, Tanunda, Willaston
The BLGFA is set for yet another exciting season with a number of big names joining the competition.
While South Gawler has lost dual Mail Medallist Steve Burton, the acquisition of former SANFL gun Emmanuel Irra is a major one and should somewhat fill the hole.
Reigning premier Willaston has again strengthened with Harry Elbrow joining a strong squad from North Adelaide, while Nuriootpa will be back in premiership contention as former Central District star Jarrod Schiller joins 2024 Mail Medallist Nick Gregurke at the Tigers.
Tanunda should be a contender with dominant forward Shay Linke returning after missing the finals series for the 2024 minor premier, while Barossa District will also be in the mix after an active pre-season, making the competition one of the most competitive in the state.
PREDICTIONS
Magpies make amends
Tanunda was dominant throughout the entire 2024 minor round but fell apart in finals after missing Shay Linke for the entire series in a significant blow.
The Magpies, led by star Sam Colquhoun, will be as hungry as ever in 2025 and should be a major contender with a clean bill of health.
Schiller claims Mail Medal
A tough and supremely skilled player with some great footy ahead of him, former Central District gun Jarrod Schiller could shine alongside Gregurke at Nuriootpa.
Should be a big chance for the league medal if he plays enough games for the Tigers.
Linke to lead goalkicking
Shay Linke played just nine games last season but tallied 36 majors in an impressive year for Tanunda.
The former SANFL young gun will be one of the top forwards in the competition and should benefit from reliable Magpies service.

SHAY LINKE

Leading goalkicker: Joe O’Brien (CEU) – 30
Major outs: Jordan Clements (Kimba to Mallala), Aseri Raikiwasa (Ports to Boston)
Clubs: Central Eyre United, Cowell, Kimba, Ports, Ranges
Central Eyre United should produce another strong season having retained the majority of its grand final list, the side just ousting out Ranges in last year’s big dance and carrying that momentum into the pre-season.
Ports will be aiming ais to move back up into the premiership fold with Ranges and CEU, but the Magpies may struggle after losing Aseri Raikiwasa to Boston.
Kimba will need to cover for the hole left by star midfielder Jordan Clements as he returns to the APFL.
PREDICTIONS
CEU goes back-to-back
CEU produced one of its best seasons in recent memory last year and with a number of stars returning to the fold, the club will be a major contender again in 2025 and should at least go close to another flag.
Kenny back on top
EEFL superstar Jack Kenny has been in dominant form for Ranges through recent seasons and is reportedly set for another big campaign after a strong pre-season.
The star midfielder should be among the contenders to add another Mail Medal to his collection.

The gun midfielder will undoubtedly be motivated by the loss this year and should remain one of the competition’s elite players.
FAR NORTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE
2024 grand final: Miners 14.2 (86) d Hornridge 8.7 (55)
Mail Medallist: Jack Rigden (Hornridge), Tyson Hornhardt (Olympic Dam), Liam Murphy (Miners)
Leading goalkicker: Lachlan Bates (Miners) – 50
Clubs: East Roxby, Hornridge, Miners, Olympic Dam
Star Miners playing-coach Jack Sires will return for the club this season after his side achieved back-to-back success in 2024, and his side should be set for another strong push with many returning players, including joint Mail Medallist Liam Murphy.
Jack Rigden’s Hornridge side will also be a strong chance after a solid 2024 season, the Magpies just unable to get the job done in the big dance after an otherwise positive finals series.
PREDICTIONS
Miners win third straight
Miners produced their best performance on the final day last season and should take that momentum into 2025 after another solid pre-season.
With some recruits still to join, the side should be well-bolstered to launch another premiership push.

Kory Beard’s Lock side has strengthened significantly ahead of the season by signing former Roos player and star Angaston forward Jed Durdin along with skilled utility Billy Byass.
United Yeelanna, fresh off of a sixth consecutive premiership, will remain the favourite entering the season but the Eagles will again need to be at their best to hold off a hungry Lock side.
Elliston Districts will be hoping for an improved season despite losing onballer Jaxon Bennett, while Cummins Ramblers will be without star young gun and reigning Mail Medallist Harlee Chandler after his return to home club Western United.
PREDICTIONS
Roos end United Yeelanna streak
Lock will enter the 2025 season with a strong side and with Kory Beard remaining with the club as playing-coach the Roos will be a strong chance at making another big dance.
With added firepower this season, the side could have what it takes to end the Eagles’ streak of flags.
Beard wins top individual honour
Former Sturt star Beard has been one of the top players in SA country footy in recent seasons but is yet to be recognised as the top player in the GFFL.

Victor Harbor will be searching for redemption this season after an upset loss to Myponga-Sellicks in last year’s big dance and should be well set to go deep in finals again despite losing Jesse McKinnon, with star mids Clayton Mesecke and Jaidan Kappler joining the likes of Bryce Gibbs and Ben Heaslip.
The Mudlarks, led by Darren Shillabeer, may struggle to get back to the end of September after losing a number of players including superstar Ben Kennedy, while Willunga should be much improved after the key signing of star forward Daniel Nobes.
McLaren may also find its way back in premiership contention after missing out last year, the Eagles signing forward Josh Vandermeer and former South Adelaide gun Matt Raitt.
PREDICTIONS
Roos rebound for flag success
It’s hard to go past Victor Harbor as the major favourite for the premiership this season, with Bryce Gibbs and Ben Heaslip returning and a number of important signings.
The Roos should produce a season similar to last but will this time be too hard to top in the big dance.
Nobes leads all forwards
The acquisition of Daniel Nobes is a major one for Willunga and the famed local SA footy spearhead should have plenty of opportunity in front of the goal for the Demons, giving him a chance at taking out the top goalkicker award for season 2025.
Medal nod for Heaslip
Ben Heaslip was ousted by teammate Jesse McKinnon for the Mail Medal last season but should remain a strong chance this year as part of another strong midfield.
Should be a stand out each week in a strong side.

Major outs: Josh Dodd (Nairne Bremer to Bordertown)
Clubs: Blackwood, Hahndorf, Lobethal, Mount Barker, Mount Lofty, Nairne Bremer, Onkaparinga Valley, Uraidla Districts
Hahndorf made amends for its 2023 grand final loss last season when it topped Nairne Bremer in a scrappy thriller and should be the favourite again this year after a successful off-season of recruitment, notably adding former HFL Mail Medallist Jackson Hooper to the fold.
Charlie Dixon remains the biggest local SA footy signing of 2025 and will be dominant if he can remain fit and play enough games for Lobethal, instantly making the Tigers a contender.
Nairne Bremer should be around the mark again despite the loss of star Josh Dodd, with club stalwart Nick Jaensch returning after time with RSMU.
Uraidla Districts has landed a major signing with Sturt’s James Richards joining the club after stepping back from SANFL footy and should make a finals push again this year but will likely face a tough challenge from Sam Callins and Mt Barker.
PREDICTIONS

Dixon is the obvious choice as the league’s top goalkicker if the former Power star can play enough games for the Tigers.
A powerful and skilled player up front, opponents will find him too difficult to stop when fit.

Clubs: Birdwood, Echunga, Gumeracha, Kangarilla, Kersbrook, Macclesfield, Meadows, Torrens Valley
Gumeracha has lost three superstar players in Sam Hanna, Ben Hanna and 2024 Mail Medallist Dylan Weaver after it claimed a third consecutive Country Division premiership in 2024 and may suffer a slight drop off in 2025 after the departures.
Kangarilla has acquired Kye Dean after falling short in last year’s big dance and should be a strong outfit heading into the season after retaining a lot of its list, while Kersbrook should also be a strong contender after a solid 2024.
Meadows and Birdwood will also be in the fold again after retaining their 2024 lists, potentially making 2025 one of the most wide open years in the Country Division in recent memory.
PREDICTIONS
Kangarilla bounces back
The Double Blues were outclassed in last year’s grand final but with the addition of versatile asset Kye Dean, the side should be a major chance at getting back to the big dance and finding success.

Western Districts has retained a number of star players including former Sturt gun and 2024 Mail Medallist Sam Jonas as the club takes the box seat in pursuit of a second consecutive premiership.
Wisanger, led by star midfielder Liam Sampson, should again be among the top contenders in the competition, while Kingscote will look to rebound after a tough 2024.
Dudley United experienced a solid season last year but may struggle to replace gun mid Keenan Jacobs after his departure to Coorong Cats in the RMFL.
PREDICTIONS
Saints march again
Western Districts was far too strong for its opposition last season and should be a force yet again this year as the Saints march to another premiership.

The KNTFL has seen the departure of Penola to the Limestone Coast Football League but remains arguably the strongest country competition in the state after another slew of player signings across the league.
Kingston could be the most improved side on paper with former North Adelaide utility Alex Barns taking over as playing-coach and recruiting former AFL player and GSFL star Ben Kennedy alongside Millicent young gun Harry Tunkin.
Reigning premier Mundulla should also be a strong outfit yet again this season with the arrival of former Glenelg star Chris Curran, while Keith has added SANFL premiership player Max Thring to a list which already boasts Aaron Young, Cameron Craig and Lewis Hender.
Padthaway will look to build off of its seventh place finish in season 2024 after signing former Carlton, Crows and WWTFC forward Troy Menzel in a major move.
Kybybolite could be set to suffer a drop after falling agonisingly short of a drought-breaking premiership last season with Andrew Bradley and Jack Trengove both departing, while Naracoorte may also struggle as it continues to rebuild from its exodus at the end of 2023.
PREDICTIONS
Crows fly to flag
Keith suffered a disappointing preliminary final loss to Kybybolite in last year’s finals series but the addition of Thring to an already impressive line-up will only further bolster their premiership credentials this season.
Mundulla and Kingston will both pose a major threat but the Crows should be battle tested enough to produce strong footy against any side.

Chris Curran has already shown he can dominate at the local level after a strong stint with Prince Alfred OC which culminated in a division one premiership and now the 2024 Glenelg premiership star has the opportunity to show his worth in the country.
A slick mover through the middle and along the flanks, Curran can completely dominate games and should poll well.

Millicent has lost 2024 Mail Medallist Harry Tunkin and leading goalkicker Frazer Bradley after going down to West Gambier in last year’s grand final, but the Saints should still be a contender after maintaining the rest of a talented list.
Superstar leader and ruck utility Daron McElroy remains with West Gambier and should be a force again this season, while reigning Mail Medallist Emerson Marks stays with a talented South Gambier line-up.
Casterton Sandford could be set to rise up the ranks this season after the addition of Colby Munro, while new club Penola, led by South East star Jayden Eldridge, should be a finals contender.

Frazer Bradley’s inclusion into an already strong Hatherleigh outfit has Tom Hutchesson’s reigning premier Eagles as the hot favourite entering this MSEFL season.
Reigning Mail Medallist Henry Lawrie and his Robe side will remain a strong challenger after a solid 2024 season and 2025 pre-season, while Port MacDonnell should also be around the mark despite losing Colby Munro to Casterton Sandford in the LCFL.
Mt Burr has continued steady improvement under playing-coach Clint Gallio and will be a team to watch in the early season, while Kalangadoo will also be a finals contender.
Nangwarry has been busy in the pre-season with a number of calculated signings and may show some continued improvement despite not landing any major names.
