Here is our list in no particular order.
JAKE CARDER
(Port Adelaide)
One of Port Adelaide’s many recruits through recent seasons, Western Australian Jake Carder has started the season well with the bat.
Playing as an opener against Glenelg on Saturday, Carder produced an impressive innings to make 107 runs off of 127 deliveries, hitting 10 fours and a six on his way to the strong total.
Carder’s fast start was the catalyst for his team’s 3/305 total.
ISAAC CONWAY
(Port Adelaide)
Conway also produced with the bat for the Magpies against Glenelg, doing major damage as the home side’s number three.
With Port Adelaide already off to a strong start thanks to openers Carder and Josh Hoffman, Conway stepped to the crease and made 117 runs off of 107 balls, an innings which included eight fours and three sixes.
Conway also took three catches as wicket keeper.
LIAM GREBER
(Port Adelaide)
The third Port Adelaide player to produce a starring performance over the weekend, Greber did major damage with the ball against the Seahorses.
A skilled swinger of the ball, Greber showed Magpies fans what they can look forward to after arriving from Adelaide Uni, keeping Glenelg batters guessing and taking 5/47.
JASPER DAVIDSON
(West Torrens)
The standout performer in an impressive win by West Torrens, Davidson produced one of the best knocks of the weekend in Premier Cricket.
Partnering with Bailey Capel and then Harry Manenti in the innings, the number three settled in quickly to make 112 runs not out off of 158 deliveries.
BRAD DAVIS
(Sturt)
Davis was at his best for the Blues in their One Day matchup with Prospect on Saturday, scoring 119 runs as an opener in a convincing win for his side.
The Sturt veteran settled in quickly and played a number of impressive shots around the ground as he led his team to an ultimately insurmountable 4/279 total.
AIDAN CAHILL
(Northern Districts)
Cahill was one of the best all-round performers of the weekend, making a strong total for Northern Districts in its win over Tea Tree Gully and also doing damage with the ball.
Coming in at number six on the Jets order, Cahill put together an impressive innings to make 74 runs not out off of 78 deliveries, hitting six fours and a six.
He also performed in the attack, taking the key wickets of Bulls vice-captain Joe Gatting and Tom Van der Jeugd.
AMANDA-JADE WELLINGTON
(West Torrens)
A standout with the ball throughout the women’s competitions T20 action on Sunday, Wellington was a key part of the Eagles’ win over Sturt.
A skilled leg spinner who always keeps batters guessing, Wellington took five wickets for just 21 runs against the Blues.
KATIE MACK
(West Torrens)
A consistent contributor with the bat over the weekend for the Eagles, Mack scored two team-high totals of 35 against Kensington and Sturt in two wins for her side.
The Adelaide Strikers player has hit the ground running for West Torrens this year and should be able to provide a regular boost for the club.
MATILDA MAITLAND
(Sturt)
Sturt lost its opening game of Sunday to West Torrens but was able to tally a win over Kensington behind the promising performance of Maitland.
The young gun bowler took 1/18 in a challenging affair against the Eagles but tallied an impressive three wickets for 24 runs with the ball against the Browns and also added 19 with the bat.
SARAH LOWE
(Kensington)
Kensington’s captain struggled with the bat against Sturt with only seven runs to her name but would do plenty of damage with the ball, taking three wickets for just seven runs in three overs.
While Lowe’s Browns could not eclipse West Torrens’ 101-run total, instead falling short at 5/100, her 20-run performance at the crease was important in giving the team a shot.
