Prince Alfred Old Collegians celebrates hosting St Peter’s on PAC front oval for the first time since 1960s with a win
Former Glenelg and Gold Coast midfielder Hayden Jolly was one of Prince Alfred Old Collegians’ best, helping the Old Reds beat rival St Peter’s Old Collegians on Saturday.

Prince Alfred Old Collegians and St Peter’s Old Collegians faced off on PAC’s front oval for the first time in 50 years – and the hosts got the chocolates.
Port District and Henley slogged out a draw on a muddy, rain-soaked oval, while Trinity Old Scholars lifted itself out of the division five relegation zone – for now.

DIVISION ONE
PAOC jumped two wins ahead in first place on the division one ladder after beating their local rivals 9.5 (59) to 3.6 (24) on Saturday.
The Old Reds held SPOC to no score in the first term, while booting 3.7 and were never really challenged for the rest of the match.
Ben O’Donohue, Hayden Jolly and Jake Pitt starred for the Old Reds.
Zak Hausler battled hard for the visitors.
Hausler was given plenty of support from ex-Brisbane midfielder Jesse O’Brien and Ben McGill (three goals).
The division one game featured more than 30 old scholars between the sides, including ex-SANFL players Jolly (Glenelg), and Will Dalwood (North Adelaide/Norwood) with Princes, and Toby Schulz (North Adelaide/Norwood) for Saints.
The Old Reds had played a handful of games on the school’s front oval in recent years but had not battled SPOC there since the 1960s, according to Princes officials.
Port District’s next three matches are likely to play a big part in its chances of snatching a finals berth.
The fourth-placed Magpies host top side Prince Alfred Old Collegians this Saturday, before playing Payneham Norwood Union and St Peter’s Old Collegians, both away.
“It will be tough but we will see just where we are in the competition.
“We will be looking forward to the challenge,’’ Maddern said.
Port drew with bottom side Henley, 6.9 (45) to 7.3 (45) away last Saturday.
Mitch Gaffney, James Batty, Sam Davidson and Luke McInerney were best for District.
The Magpies held a 10-point lead at three-quarter time before the Sharks hit the front by a point with about five minutes remaining.
Port had a chance to snatch the victory but a shot on goal fell short with about a minute to play.
“We have been building and working on a number of things,’’ Parker said.
“Confidence is a big thing and early in the season our biggest downfall was our consistency.’’
Spirited, tough and a top leader were among the accolades for Goodwood Saints’ Nicholas Burgess after he was awarded the David Baker Medal in the club’s Beyond Blue clash against Tea Tree Gully.
Playing its traditional match against the Wolves to remember David Baker (Saints) and Bennett Sparrow (TTG) who took their lives in the past 10 years.
The Saints finished full of running to win 10.14 (74) to 5.8 (38) at Goodwood Oval.
Jakob Heitmann and Jacob Hughes (four goals) enjoyed solid games for the Saints.
Seventh-placed Brighton stood tall to edge out Adelaide University 8.6 (54) to 6.10 (46) away.
But the Bombers could be sitting in the top five had two after-the-siren shots for goal, against Uni in round two and then Goodwood Saints in round 10, been converted.
Rostrevor Old Collegians kicked just 6.7 (43) but that proved enough for Payneham Norwood Union’s 3.8 (26) at Payneham Oval.
James Jordan starred for ROC, while Tullio Dematteis, Will Mead and Sam Jonas also performed solidly for the visitors.
Brett Ancell, Cameron Milne and Pierce Seymour led the way for the hosts.
The Falcons are second on the ladder with a 7-4 record.
ROC has the same win/loss record as PNU but have a lower percentage.
DIVISION TWO
Sacred Heart Old Collegians held Gaza to its lowest score this season when they beat the Eagles by 84 points in their second-tier clash at Klemzig Oval.
The visitors prevailed 13.15 (93) to 1.3 (9) on Saturday.
Patrick Neal-Bullen, Matt Delmenico (two goals) and Nick Forster starred for SHOC.
Tristan Carcuro kicked three goals for the visitors.
Damon Hill was the hosts’ only goal kicker, while Todd Culley also worked hard.
Seaton Ramblers is in a logjam of sides battling for a place in the finals after losing at home to Broadview.
The fifth-placed Rams battled all day but went down 12.13 (85) to 7.11 (53).
Matthew Johncock, Brett Harland (five goals) and Peter Verigan starred for the hosts.
Sam De Leonardis, Jack Sausse and Zach Slade were best for the visitors.
Riley Faehrmann, Anthony Skara (three goals) and Josh Stevens provided the main spark as Unley Mercedes Jets beat Scotch Old Collegians, 12.14 (86) to 3.9 (27) at home.
The victory helped the Jets remain top and a win clear of second-placed Sacred Heart Old Collegians.

DIVISION THREE
North Haven’s strong season in division three continued when it proved too solid for Plympton at Largs North Reserve.
Chris Lipson led the way for the fourth-ranked Magpies in the 10.10 (70) to 7.9 (51) triumph.
Jake Williams, Kyran Dixon and Jack McCafferty all booted two majors each for North Haven.
Christian Dorward, Tom Clarke and Stuart Taverner performed well for Plympton.
Portland’s hopes of pushing for the major round suffered a setback when it lost at home to Golden Grove.
Zac Friend was best for the Thunder in their 13.14 (92) to 5.8 (38) loss.
Troy Wilkey and Matt Rowe also battled strongly for the hosts.
Ex-Central District utility Luke Barmby was best for the visitors and finished with two goals.
Judd Morris and Connor Dodd also led the way for the Kookaburras.
Old Ignatians held third spot on the ladder while keeping Morphettville Park to a lowly score at Hunter Park Oval on Saturday.
Iggies proved too strong and triumphed 5.15 (45) to 2.6 (18).

DIVISION FOUR
Kilburn broke a two-game losing streak with a shock victory over Woodville South at home on Saturday.
The Chics entered the clash second-bottom while the Cats were fifth but Kilburn moved out of the relegation zone with the 17.11 (113) to 5.9 (39) victory.
Kilburn is now sixth with a 5-6 record.
Woodville South remains fifth with the same win/loss record.
Darren Francis booted five goals for the hosts, while Brent McLean was also strong.
Simon Tyler and Brett Hains were best for the visitors.
CBC Old Collegians kept a firm hold on fourth spot after a commanding triumph against Pembroke Old Scholars at Haslam Oval on Saturday.
The visitors prevailed 18.13 (121) to 5.10 (40)

DIVISION FIVE
Trinity Old Scholars moved out of the relegation zone and broke a six-match losing streak when it beat fellow struggler Blackfriars Old Scholars at home on Saturday.
The Lions went into the clash second-bottom, while the Hounds were anchored to last place.
But it was the hosts who claimed a 14.12 (96) to 5.6 (36) win.
The Lions are now eighth with a 2-9 record, while the Hounds are still bottom, having only triumphed in one match this season.
Jordan Smith kicked five goals for Trinity against the Hounds and Trent Eves also impressed.
Sam Murphy and Matthew Rivett were best for the visitors.
Kenilworth lost its first match for this season after going down to Salisbury by 27 points at Simonds Park on Saturday.
The Kookaburras lost 10.6 (66) to 6.3 (39).
They still remained top of the table with the same win/loss record as second-ranked Hope Valley but with a superior percentage.
Andrew Liverton kicked three goals for Kenilworth.
Neil Vea Vea and Chris Salvati also played well.

DIVISION SIX
In a battle to avoid relegation to division seven next year, second-bottom Marion pushed third-ranked Elizabeth in their clash at Argana Park on Saturday.
But the Rams ultimately fell short, going down 9.7 (61) to 8.5 (53).
The visitors helf five-point lead at quarter-time but failed to sustain it and were held scoreless in the second term.
Lyndon Rasmus-Fraser was best for Marion, while Patrick O’Dea was the Rams’ multiple goal kicker, finishing with two.
Jordan Stewart, Jhye McConnell and Anthony Bullock starred for the hosts.
Marion has a 3-7 record and is one win, plus percentage behind seventh-placed Brahma Lodge.

DIVISION SEVEN:
Flinders University overcame a five-point quarter-time deficit and wet conditions to record a 14.13 (97) to 9.9 (63) home victory on Saturday, ending a losing streak that stretched back to August 5, 2017.
Since that previous success, the Crabs had lost 29 games by an average of 103.7 points, including sustaining a 283-0 shellacking against Marion in April last year.
So when the final siren sounded on Saturday, and the monkey was off the division seven club’s back, dozens of Flinders players, officials and supporters gathered in the change rooms for a rousing rendition of the club song – although “probably half” of the squad did not know it, according to Crabs president Dean Schofield.
Flinders entered the match with a 0-10 record, while Central United was 6-4 and had beaten the Crabs by 43 points in their previous meeting this season.
