The reigning Netball SA Premier League MVP has switched uniforms ahead of season 2023.
Former Tango captain and star goal attack Jess Paradiso has signed with South Adelaide in a significant move which could change the power balance of the competition.
Paradiso is coming off of a sensational season, shooting 423 goals in 15 appearances and leading Tango to third on the ladder.
The league veteran said joining South Adelaide would provide a new challenge.
“I loved my time at Tango, they got me back into playing after having kids and starting a family and it was a sad decision to leave but it seemed like a good time to give a new challenge a go,” Paradiso said.
“South Adelaide spiked my interest for a new challenge and new environment and has a really good side with a lot of potential, so I’m looking forward to adding that and hopefully going deep in finals.”
Paradiso will be joining her new club with Tango teammate and centre Charlotte Veart and will also be partnered with young gun goal shooter and 2022 Premier League Rookie of the Year Maggie Kerr.
She said she was thrilled by the opportunity to play with both at South Adelaide.
“I’m so glad to continue on with Charlotte, she’s a great player and a great teammate.
“Playing-wise I know how good Maggie is as well, she’s well-established now.
“I want to build that connection with her and we’ve even seen in recent trial games that the connection is there and that we can be a dangerous duo.”
South Adelaide experienced a resurgence in season 2022, finishing fourth and defeating Paradiso’s Tango side to make a preliminary final.
The star attacker believed she could bring another dynamic to the team and achieve the first title in her Premier League career.
“On the court I’m going to bring experience and off the court I’m a very relaxed and happy person which I think can help to add a bit more of an easygoing vibe for a team,” Paradiso said.
“Everyone’s goal is getting to that final game of the season and I think we have what it takes.
“I’ve played many, many years but haven’t achieved that ultimate goal yet so I’m really motivated.”
