Division one of the Adelaide Footy League has seen a number of major moves, with big names like former star Crows defender Luke Brown joining Tea Tree Gully and Glenelg captain and premiership player Andrew Bradley joining PAOC.
Dual Magarey Medallist Joel Cross has signed with Sacred Heart OC – the division’s busiest club – after playing in Kangaroo Island last season, while Kenny Karpany at Port District, Abe Davis at Glenunga and division two medal runner-up Sam Daniele at Broadview could also prove to be significant moves.

Dual Magarey Medallist Mitch Grigg has returned to junior club Athelstone after winning a premiership with Lobethal in the Hills FL, while North Melbourne and Port Adelaide AFL star Lindsay Thomas has committed to North Haven after time with Portland.
Payneham Norwood Union has also been active after being relegated from the top division.

Triple AFL premiership player Paul Puopolo will play with hometown club Hope Valley this season after spending a year with Virginia in the Adelaide Plains FL, the Demons securing the small’s services after winning promotion to the division.
Modbury has been one of the most proactive clubs in the Adelaide Footy League this pre-season, signing multiple country and SANFL players, while Unley Mercedes Jets have secured the services of former Sturt and St Peters OC forward Jake Sutcliffe after being relegated.

Jack Redden has been the biggest signing in local SA footy for 2023, joining Willunga fresh off of an outstanding AFL season with West Coast.
The star midfielder finished sixth in the Eagles’ 2022 Best and Fairest count but decided to call time on his AFL career and move back home to SA.
Goodwood and South Adelaide gun Reece Slape has joined Goolwa-Pt Elliot as playing-coach in another big move, while standout St Peters OC midfielder James Hargreaves heads to Yankalila.

Coakley – a dominant midfielder who had spent almost his entire local career at the Saints in the Southern FL – has joined Tailem Bend, with the Eagles looking primed for a deep finals push.

The skilled big out of Ardrossan should provide a strong outlet on the ball and up front for the Eagles, who will be coached by dual Magarey Medallist and Sturt icon Zane Kirkwood this season.
