Crows stars including Jordan Dawson, Riley Thilthorpe shine in local SA cricket match

A number of current and ex-Crows guns have taken to the cricket pitch during the off-season and produced a dominant display including a four-wicket haul by a star key forward in an impressive local win over the weekend.

A number of Crows stars including captain Jordan Dawson and All-Australian forward Riley Thilthorpe have been testing their cricket skills during the off-season and recently produced a matchwinning performance for a local SA club.

Dawson and Thilthorpe were joined by James Peatling, Luke Pedlar, Isaac Cumming and former Crows Lachie Murphy, Patrick Parnell and Bernie Vince as they snagged a 99-runTwenty20 win for Prince Alfred Old Collegians’ division three side over the weekend.

While he’s no stranger to ripping a game apart as the main point of the Crows attack in the AFL, Thilthorpe also proved he could be handy as a bowler, taking four wickets from just three overs to lead the PAOC attack as they rolled Unley for just 68 runs to claim the win.

It didn’t take long for the Old Reds to put a strong total together, with breakout finals forward Luke Pedlar tallying 44 runs as an opening batter, smacking three sixes and three fours in the process.

Fellow opener Bernie Vince made 18 off of 16 deliveries, while gritty midfielder James Peatling chipped in with four fours and a total of 24.

All-Australian and triple Malcolm Blight Medallist Dawson could only muster 10 runs off of seven deliveries but would take an important scalp in Unley opener Wil Ainscough with the ball to help set up the win for PAOC.
