Adelaide’s metro competitions have reached the end for season 2021-2022 and the leading run-scorers and wicket-takers have been crowned.

The Messenger has compiled the full rankings of every Adelaide batter this season by runs scored and all bowlers by wickets taken.

Junior, senior, male and female players from Adelaide’s four main metro competitions – Premier Cricket, Adelaide Turf, Adelaide and Suburban, and Para Districts – are all included.

See below for the full season rankings.

Salisbury West star takes batting title

With 1007 runs, Salisbury West Cricket Club’s Jamie McIntyre has finished at the top of Adelaide’s run-makers for 2021-2022.

McIntyre – who has now been through multiple long-term knee injuries – decided to move down to the Para District Cricket Association’s fifth grade this season and recorded some massive scores.

With a top score of 257, it’s no surprise the 28-year-old club-favourite topped the rankings.

“I’ve always been a bowler so anything close to 1000 runs is amazing to me,” McIntyre said of his total.

“I’ve been a bit more aggressive this season probably, I bat pretty low so I usually have a bit of a hit.

“I’ve also worked on taking each delivery as it comes, hit the bad ones and respect the good ones.”

Before this season, McIntyre’s career total for Salisbury West was 1200 runs, which he almost matched this season alone.

He said he was hopeful of moving back up the grades and testing his new batting approach in the future.

“I’m not much of a bowler anymore, I’ve done five knees playing sport so my knees don’t like me bowling too much,” McIntyre said.

“I want to continue on at the club and just keep making as many runs as I can with the bat.”

Finishing second and third in the rankings were Woodville South’s Josh Hoffman with 966 runs and Adelaide Risers’ Ankit Saksena with 899.

Two Premier Cricket stars – William Bosisto (Adelaide Uni) and Daniel Drew (West Torrens) – were separated by just one run in fourth and fifth, Bosisto recording 878 and Drew tallying 877.

Craigmore bowler narrowly tops rankings

Craigmore Cricket Club’s Aaron Sebastyan completed his sensational season with 51 wickets, only two more than Sheidow Par’s Sean McLaughlin.

Sebastyan took a total of 17 wickets in his last month of play to skyrocket to the top of the standings and knock McLaughlin – who led for most of the season – down to second spot.

Peninsula Pirates’ Troy Reciszen (47 wickets) maintained his strong form in the PDCA’s LO1 competition to take third spot, while Angle Vale star Justin Carman (45 wickets) took 14 wickets in his final month to finish fourth.

Carman bowled an astounding total of nearly 247 overs throughout the year and has as a result seen his name rise to the top.
