Adelaide Premier Cricket top 10 players so far this 2020/21 SACA season
We’ve cast our eye over the top 10 performers so far this Premier Cricket season, including Redbacks, Bradman Medallists and rising all-rounders. See who made the cut.

We have three minor rounds remaining of the two-day Adelaide Premier Cricket season and The Messenger has identified the top 10 performers so far.
Using a ranking system of one point per run and 20 points per wicket, the leading players include a few Redbacks stars, a Bradman Medal runner up and rising all-rounders.
#1 SAM KERBER
Adelaide University
Points: 790
Top performance: 106 not out and 3/13.
All-rounder Sam Kerber has taken his top form from last season to another level during the 2020/21 campaign and is a big reason why the Blacks sit top of the ladder.
Kerber, who finished second in last year’s Bradman Medal count behind Adelaide’s Cam Valente, has smashed 470 runs at 67.14, with an unbeaten 106 against Northern Districts in round eight.
He has also notched five half-centuries and is also a top performer with the ball, taking 16 wickets at 18.25, including 3/13 against Sturt in round four.
#2 COREY KELLY
Sturt
Points: 705
Top performance: 6/78 and 103
Kelly, an identical twin and son of former Norwood and Crows footballer Matthew Kelly, is one of the rising stars of the Premier Cricket competition.
The youngster earned a rookie contract with the Redbacks for the first time this NCL season, following his inclusion in Australia’s 2020 under-19 World Cup squad.
The pace-bowler/all-rounder has made 325 runs and taken 19 scalps at 17.37 thus far for Sturt.
His best with the bat came in round five against East Torrens with 103 and that was before making 84 against Adelaide in round three.
Kelly has been most prolific with the ball, snaring 6/78 against Kensington in round 10.
#3 KYLE SCRIMEGOUR
Prospect
Points: 693
Top performance: 102 and 4/31
The former Northern Territory all-rounder has been a shining light for Prospect in a tough campaign for the Pirates.
Scrimegour, who signed with Prospect ahead of the 2018/19 season, has hit a total of 413 runs and amassed 14 wickets at 31.64.
His best performance at the crease came against Northern Districts just before the Christmas break when he hit 102.
Scrimegour claimed 4/31 in the round four loss to Kensington and his scalps included three-time Bradman Medallist Jake Brown, dismissing him for 12, before removing ex-redback John Dalton (15).
#4 WILL BOSISTO
Adelaide University
Points: 779
Top performance: 131 not out and 4/52
Adelaide University’s West Australian recruit and Redback Will Bosisto has again performed strongly this Premier Cricket season.
His eye-catching performances last summer led to him being awarded a full state contract for the 2020/2021 NCL.
And he has not missed a beat in the local competition.
The 27-year-old has hit 419 runs, while taking 13 wickets.
Bosisto’s best performance with the bat was in round one against Adelaide when he made 131 not out, before another century (13) in round five against Port Adelaide.
His best bowling was done in round six against Woodville with 4/52.
Bosisto also featured in last year’s top 10 performers of the season at the halfway mark.
#5 DANIEL DREW
West Torrens
Points: 642
Top performance: 107 and 5/51
Drew, who became the first West Torrens player in 29 years to win the Bradman in 2017, is enjoying a standout season.
The 24-year-old has claimed 19 wickets at 18.79, while hitting 262 runs from nine games with the Eagles this season first grade matches this season.
Drew, who made his first-class debut last summer, made one century (107 in round two against Port Adelaide) before two half-tons (72 against Tea Tree Gully and 93 against Adelaide University).
#6 JAKE BROWN
Kensington
Points: 633
Top performance: 123 and 3/8
Three-time Bradman Medallist Jake Brown is proving he still has what it takes to match it with the best in the top tier competition.
Brown has led the way for Kensington as the side sits in second place on the first grade ladder.
He is second on the top 10 batting list with 473 runs — his best was 123 against East Torrens in round eight.
Brown snared 3/8 in round two against Tea Tree Gully.
#7 BEN TURLEY
Woodville
Points: 614
Top performance: 78 not out and 4/30
Turley, who sensationally left Prospect in the middle of the 2018/2019 season to return to the Peckers, is in some good form this year.
The all-rounder is one of the Peckers’ best performers with the ball, snaring 19 wickets at 18.42, with his best figures (4/30) coming against Sturt in round eight.
He then claimed 4/24 against Adelaide University the following week.
Turley has also hit 234 runs, including 78 not out against Sturt.
It follows on from his strong 2019/2020 campaign, in which he finished equal fifth in the Bradman Medal count and was named in the First Grade Team of the Year.
#8 ELLIOT OPIE
Kensington
Points: 597
Top performance: 5/22 and 61
Opie, who has taken on more of a mentoring role with the Browns this year, is still proving to be one of the club’s strongest both in the field and at the crease.
He is second on the top bowlers’ list, having claimed 23 wickets at 17.04, including an incredible 5/22 against Prospect.
Opie snared 5/34 against Southern District earlier this season, then 5/97 against Port Adelaide last month.
The Browns veteran has also made 137 runs, his best being 61 hit against the Magpies.
#9 LEWIS HATCHETT
Southern District
Points: 580
Top performance: 6/50
Hatchett, who lined up with English County club Sussex before being recruited by the Stingrays, is the competition’s best bowler so far this season.
The left-arm medium-fast bowler has snared a whopping 27 wickets in total, including a standout display against Prospect in round 10, claiming 6/50.
That came after he took 5/45 against Adelaide.
Hatchett has defied the odds after being born with Poland Syndrome – a rare condition that appears in about one in 100,000 births and affects one side of the body.
#10 TATE ROBINS
East Torrens
Points: 578
Top performance: 4/31 and 80
Robins has snared 19 wickets at 19.89 from nine Premier Cricket games with the Reds this campaign.
His best bowling figures of 4/31 against Northern Districts in round 10.
He also claimed 4/38 against Woodville earlier this season, before 3/32 against Southern District.
Robins has made 198 runs, with his best being a half-ton (80) against the Peckers.
