Divisions six and seven of the Adelaide Footy League have improved each season and boast a number of star names in 2024.
Based on this season’s form and with the help of league insiders, we’ve ranked the combined top 40 players from each division this year.
Here is our list from 40 to 1.
40. MARK FRENCH
(Flinders Uni)
French has been a standout for Flinders Uni in almost every game he has played.
A strong and hardworking player with the ability to win his own footy and create for teammates.
Has 11 best player nods and seven goals in 12 games.
39. BRADEN HART
(Para Hills)
A constant threat for the Big Reds around the ground and up front.
Hart is a skilled player who can kick goals from anywhere or setup teammates with clever disposal.
Has 34 goals and six best player nods in 16 games.
38. JACOB DOHERTY
(Hackham)
Doherty has been one of Hackham’s most effective players in 2024.
Finds plenty of the ball around the ground and makes great decisions whether it’s damaging opposition with his disposal to teammates or booting goals himself.
Has 25 majors and 12 best player mentions in 17 games.
37. HARRISON KAESLER
(OSB Lonsdale)
One of the most consistent performers for the Lions this season.
Kaesler’s ability to win the footy in the air or at ground level and find teammates efficiently makes him one of division seven’s best.
Has nine best player mentions and three goals in 13 games.
36. ARON ASFAHA
(Para Hills)
Joining Para Hills after a strong division six season with Fitzroy last year, Asfaha has been a star for the Big Reds in div seven.
A hard worker in the contest who finds plenty of the footy, hits teammates with precision and can also kick goals.
Has 23 majors and seven best player nods in 19 games.
35. REECE JOHNSTON
(Ingle Farm)
Johnston has been a standout in the contest and up front for Ingle Farm this year.
A relentless player who can win plenty of the footy, find teammates while under pressure and also boot important goals.

34. GLENN DRAPER
(Hackham)
An important player for the Hawks this season, Draper has been a weapon up front.
A strong player with the ability to win his own footy inside 50 or take big marks and finish for goal.

33. JOSH MANN
(Salisbury)
An important player for Salisbury this season, Mann has been a potent part of the Magpies forwardline.
Mann is a highly skilled player who can take strong marks and finish for goal from anywhere in and around the 50.

32. ROWAN MIEGEL
(Adelaide Lutheran)
A standout forward for Adelaide Lutheran this season.
Miegel has been at his best leading from the front and taking strong marks before releasing teammates or hitting the scoreboard himself.

31. MAISON WARNER
(Eastern Park)
An important player in the contest and around the ground for the Demons.

(Salisbury)
A versatile player who can fill a number of roles for the Magpies.

(Houghton Districts)
The former Tea Tree Gully player has been at his best for Houghton Districts up front this season.

27. TREVOR RIGNEY
(OSB Lonsdale)
One of the great forwards in local SA footy history, Rigney has had another strong season for OSB Lonsdale.

26. BRANDON RIGNEY
(Ingle Farm)
Brandon has been one of the side’s standouts through 2024.
A hard runner who has been a force up front with his ability to win the ball in the air and on the ground as well as finish from anywhere in and around the forward 50.
Has 51 goals and six best player nods in 15 games so far.
25. DANIEL RUSBY
(Fitzroy)
Has been one of Fitzroy’s standout players at the back.
Rusby reads the play as well as anyone in his side and often makes important contests in defence.
Has seven best player nods in 16 games.
24. WAYNE HUTCHINSON
(Houghton Districts)
Hutchinson has been a star for the Raiders yet again in 2024.
A skilled player overhead and off of the deck who can stand on a number of forwards and also distribute efficiently.
Has nine goals and nine best player mentions in his 17 games.
23. CAMERON SANDERCOCK
(Ingle Farm)
A star defender for Ingle Farm who can also have an impact up front, Sandercock has been one of his team’s most important players.
Battles well in the air and at ground level and possesses great overhead marking ability.

22. RILEY BABIAK
(Houghton Districts)
A consistent performer around the ground for Ingle Farm.
One of the most skilled players for his side and a constant goal threat, Babiak racks up disposals and can also create for others.

(Fitzroy)
Ellis has been a star forward for Fitzroy this season.

(Salisbury)
A standout for Salisbury this season, Goodes has been important in his side’s success so far.

19. LUKE MCCORMICK-SMITH
(Eastern Park)
One of the most consistent wingers in division six, McCormick-Smith has been a force for Eastern Park.
Covers ground as well as anyone and always makes the right decision in possession by either setting up his teammates with his accurate leg or booting goals himself.
Has 36 goals and five best player nods in 16 games.
18. ANTHONY ALESIANI
(St Paul’s OS)
A talented player who can produce top performances at the back and also impact up front.
Alesiani has great marking ability, finds plenty of the footy, is a reliable distributor and can also finish well in front of goal.
Has seven best player performances and 20 goals in 16 games.
17. BEN RUSSELL
(Fitzroy)
One of the most consistent performers for the Lions, Russell has had a strong 2024 season.
Wins his fair share of the footy, cuts opposition up with his disposal and also sets teammates up for goalkicking opportunities.
Has 11 best player nods and five goals in 15 appearances.
16. BRONSON EELES
(Central United)
Joining Central United after time with United in the Adelaide Plains FL, Eeles has been an important player for the Dogs.
A workhorse around the ground, Eeles wins his fair share of the footy for his side and can create with damaging disposal.
Has nine best player nods and three goals in 17 games.
15. MICHAEL MCINERNEY
(Rosewater)
A standout along the wing and through the middle for Rosewater this season.
McInerney is one of the best at creating space in division six, racks up disposals and is his side’s most reliable kick.
Has 12 best player nods and two goals in 15 game.
14. LLEWELLYN MILERA
(Eastern Park)
A superstar half back flanker, Milera has been a standout for the Demons this year.
Reads the play as well as anyone to cut off opposition forwards and provides important run and carry as well as damaging disposal.
Has five best player performances in 14 games.
13. JAMES GAMEAU
(Salisbury)
A dominant forward for Salisbury this season.
Gameau is a skilled player up front who is clean in disposal, has great hands and can boot goals from anywhere.
Has 63 majors and three best player nods in 15 games.
12. DANIEL WEETRA
(Para Hills)
An electric and skilled forward, Weetra has produced one of his best seasons yet in the Adelaide Footy League, leading division seven as well as the rest of the league in goalkicking.
An athletic and smart player who can fly for big marks or win the footy at ground level to either create for teammates or hit the scoreboard himself with his elite finishing ability.
Has a huge 128 goals and four best player nods in 17 games so far.
11. CAMERON SCHUTZ
(Houghton Districts)
The standout ruck in division six, Schutz has been a force for Houghton Districts yet again this year.
Boasting great skills for a big man, Schutz often gives his teammates first use and can also impact the game around the ground with his strong marking ability and reliable disposal.
Has six best player nods and two goals in 16 games.
10. LUKE ALLAN
(Hackham)
Hawks captain Allan has been an unstoppable force in division seven this season.
Tallying 40 disposals in 10 of his 17 games this year, Allan’s ability to win the footy in the contest and either find teammates with precision or hit the scoreboard makes him a force for Hackham.
Has 26 goals and 12 best player nods in 17 games.
9. DANIEL TANCZOS
(Ingle Farm)
Composed on the ball for the Bulldogs with a damaging boot, Tanczos has played a significant role in the division six side’s dominance this season.
Tanczos wins plenty of the footy in the contest and can cut up any opposition with his distribution.
Has 11 best player mentions and five goals in his 17 games so far.
8. JOSH ROSENTHAL
(Fitzroy)
Key forward Rosenthal has been one of the best in division six this season.
The Fitzroy big man is a strong target up front who takes big grabs, kicks big goals and can dominate with his strength and footy smarts.
Has nine best player nods in 17 games as well as 113 majors to lead the goalkicking alongside Eastern Park star Shawn Mansell.
7. RILEY HENRIKS
(St Paul’s OS)
Henriks has been a star through midfield for St Paul’s OS this year.
A dominant player who is clean off of the deck, Henriks finds plenty of the footy and can create for teammates while also getting up the ground to hit the scoreboard.
Has 23 goals and 17 best player nods in 17 games.
6. SHAWN MANSELL
(Eastern Park)
Returning to Eastern Park after a year off, Mansell has been at his best for the Demons in div six.
A smart and strong forward who makes clever leads, takes strong marks, is clean off of the deck and kicks big goals.
Has 113 majors in 16 games as well as eight best player nods.
5. MICHAEL KEENIHAN
(Salisbury)
A superstar defender in division six, Keenihan has played a huge part in his side’s undefeated run so far.
Keenihan is a leader at the back for the Magpies who reads the play well, wins plenty of aerial contests and is one of his side’s top distributors.
Has seven best player nods and three goals in 16 games.
4. TERREL RIGNEY
(Ingle Farm)
Rigney has been a star for Ingle Farm after a standout 2023 season with the club.
The former North Adelaide player is a skilled and versatile star by hand and foot who can dominate up front as a dangerous forward who takes strong marks and finishes from anywhere or also impact the contest.
Has 51 majors and six best player nods through 14 games.
3. BEN MCMULLEN
(Eastern Park)
One of the top midfielders in division six, McMullen has been dominant for the Demons in 2024.
A classy player with great skills and a relentless attack on the footy, McMullen finds plenty of the ball and uses it as well as anyone.
Has seven best player nods and 14 goals in 16 games.
2. BRAD PRIOR
(Salisbury)
A star player for division six’s undefeated side, Prior has dominated on the ball and up front for the Magpies.
Prior is a workhorse around the ground who wins plenty of his own ball, distributes efficiently and always makes the right decisions in possession.
Can also push forward to hit the scoreboard with 32 majors to go with eight best player nods in 16 games.
1. CHRIS KNAPP
(Eastern Park)
Returning to Eastern Park after time with Loxton in the Riverland Football League, Knapp has been a force in division six.
A big-bodied midfielder with great skills who can also play a big role up front, Knapp has taken over games with his ability to take strong marks, set up teammates and kick big bags of goals.
Has 100 goals so far while playing a significant portion of the season in midfield as well as up front f for the Demons and has also been named among their best in 10 of his 17 appearances.
