The Messenger Community News-sponsored side sat fourth on the competition ladder with a 5-5 record last night after 10 rounds of play.
The Endurance went down 6-2, 5-3 to Sydney Lions in last night’s televised match in the $110,000 tournament at Club Pine Rivers.
Adelaide, runner-up in last year’s inaugural APL, got off to a poor start on Tuesday, losing 11-1, 5-5 to New Zealand Blackjacks.
But three wins from its next three games, including an impressive tie break set victory over defending champion Brisbane Gold, got its title bid back on track.
The Endurance looked set for another win in Tuesday night’s match with new franchise Gold Coast Hawks, but were denied victory on their opponents’ final tie break bowl.
The Bowls SA franchise, which features SA-based players Scot Thulborn, Wayne Ruediger and Simon Dorr, won two and lost three of their fixtures yesterday.
They will play their last four preliminary games today.
The top four sides in the eight-team competition progress to tomorrow night’s semi-finals.
