Uber Eats driver assaulted and robbed by teens at Brighton

Two youth have been arrested – with another still on the run – after an Uber Eats driver was assaulted and robbed at Brighton overnight.

Two teenagers have been arrested after an overnight assault and theft at Brighton.

Around 9:40pm on Monday, police were called to Cedar Ave after reports an Uber Eats driver had been assaulted by three teenagers.

The driver also had his scooter stolen but was not seriously injured.

Police searched the area and found both the scooter and two of the suspects nearby, who have since been arrested and charged with numerous offences including assault, theft, illegal use of a motor vehicle, and breach of bail.

A 14-year-old Dover Gardens boy and a 12-year-old Mitchell Park boy were bailed to appear in court at a later date.

The third suspect is still at large, but police are “following positive lines of inquiry”.
