Two new adult stores slated for Adelaide’s sexy south

Adelaide will become a lot sexier with two new adult stores to keep up with skyrocketing demand – and a service which sees products delivered, fast.

National adult store Sexyland is set to open its first two stores in South Australia, after a record surge in demand for adult toys.

The first store will open in Morphett Vale at the end of August, while the second will be in a yet-to-be-confirmed location.

The store’s products have previously only been available to South Australians from its online store.

A spokeswoman for the franchise said the company was excited to extend their widely successful ‘Quickie Service’, which allows customers in selected areas to purchase products online and have them delivered to their door within two hours.

“During Melbourne’s latest lockdown, this two-hour delivery service accounted for almost 60 per cent of sales,” she said.

“Customers can take advantage of shopping from the comfort of their own homes and for certain best-selling products, receive their toys within just two hours.”

According to statistics provided by Sexyland, the top product purchased in SA online from January to June was stimulators (advanced vibrators), accounting for 25.17 per cent of all sales.

The store’s busiest week fell days before Valentine’s Day, where 51 per cent more revenue was generated than an average 2021 sales week.

Those stuck at home, either in self-isolation or lockdown, have thrust Sexyland’s sales to unprecedented levels – resulting in an 80 per cent increase in online sales nationally in March 2020.

The adult toy industry is worth USD $31.25bn globally and has a predicted growth rate of USD $5.74bn per year from 2020 to 2024.
