Two men arrested over Happy Valley Molotov cocktail attack

Two men have been arrested after Molotov cocktails were allegedly thrown at home in Happy Valley – but police believe the suspected culprits had the wrong house.

A pair of northern suburbs men have been charged following a targeted arson attack, which police suspect is a case of mistaken identity.

Two Molotov cocktails were thrown at the Happy Valley home on September 5.

Police believe the wrong address was targeted in the attack.

Around 5am, a man woke to the sound of an explosion coming from the driveway of his Miller Street property.

The man found two small fires in the driveway and near the front door of the home.

Luckily the man was able to extinguish the fires and there was only minor damage to the property.

Police seized the Molotov cocktails for forensic examination.

On September 7, Serious and Organised Crime Branch detectives arrested a 32-year-old Paralowie man and charged him with two counts of act likely to cause harm.

He has been remanded in custody.

On September 11, a 29-year-old man from Gepps Cross was arrested and also charged with acts likely to cause harm.

He was bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court next month.
