POPPING into a world of bubbles is all in a day’s work for performer Lauren Grant.

Grant’s alter ego, Rosie, will host a Bubble Pop Zone at next month’s inaugural Southern Children’s Festival.

“It’s going to be pop music and bubbles … and who doesn’t love bubbles,” Grant, 32, says.

“Then there will also be glitter, rainbows and fun.

“But it’s really just a great day for children and their families to come together.”

Children’s singer Peter Combe will headline the festival, which aims to celebrate youngsters in the area.

It will feature a jungle gym, youth performances, face painters, a rock climbing wall, animal farm, games, craft and food.

Children’s artists Rumbo & Jumpo, Sea Star Rock, The Funny Farmers and Mickster the Tricker will also perform.

Azaylea Clark, 5, is looking forward to using different props to make bubbles with Rosie.

“I like to see bubbles float … they are easy to pop,” Azaylea, of Hackham, says.

“And I will like watching the stage for the dancing.”

The Southern Children’s Festival is a collaboration between Country Arts SA’s Hopgood Theatre, Anglicare SA Communities for Children Onkaparinga and the Federal Social Services Department.

It will be at Hopgood Theatre, Ramsay Place, Noarlunga Centre, on Saturday, February 3, 1pm-5pm. Free. Details: countryarts.org.au
