EDITOR'S NOTE: All charges against Simon Schramm have now been dropped.

The son of a former top cop has been granted bail after police allegedly found him over his toilet flushing drugs, earlier this week.

Simon Schramm, 51, appeared in the Christies Beach Magistrate Court on Thursday, charged with a number of counts including drug trafficking and possessing prescription drugs.

The court heard just after 8am on Wednesday, October 11, officers from Southern District CIB with STAR Group officers attended a Seaford Meadows home to search the property in relation to alleged drug dealing.

“When police entered the master bedroom, they heard the ensuite toilet flush with the accused standing over the toilet,” the police prosecutor said.

“On inspection of the toilet, police found a plastic resealable bag in the bowl. They attempted to retrieve the bag from the toilet but found it to be empty.

“Police suspect the contents of the bag were illicit drugs and the accused disposed of them by flushing them down the toilet.”

On further inspection of the house, police allegedly found a trafficable quantity of fantasy, methamphetamine and some cannabis.

The court also heard a number of prescription drugs were found in the house, including steroids as well as tick lists and a number of mobile phones.

Mr Schramm was arrested along with his partner Rachel Evans, 29 and roommate Joel Dycer, 34 who were also charged with trafficking a controlled drug and other offences.

Ms Evans and Mr Dycer were granted police bail and are yet to appear before the court.

Further, the court heard, Mr Schramm was serving a three year good behaviour bond after he pleaded guilty for other drug trafficking matters in Adelaide District Court back in March last year.

For that offence he received a one year and nine month imprisonment, suspended.

Hugh Woods, defence counsel for Mr Schramm, submitted to the court his clients co-accused had taken responsibility of the drugs in her recorded interview with police.

“Possession is a serious live issue in this matter,” Mr Woods said.

Ms Evans has not entered any pleas at this stage.

The court heard Mr Schramm’s father Paul Schramm, the detective of the taskforce that investigated the Snowtown murders, was willing to go guarantor for his son and have him bailed to his home.

Magistrate Briony Kennewell granted Mr Schramm bail to his father’s.

He will return to court next year.
