FORMER Hawthorn champion Shane Crawford has answered an SOS and will suit up for the battling Aldinga Sharks next month.
The Brownlow Medallist made the announcement on Channel 9’s The Footy Show last night and has vowed to bring other members of the popular program to Aldinga for a match, at a yet-to-be determined date.
It is the latest in a series of high-profile goodwill gestures for the Sharks, who have lost their past three Southern Football League matches by more than 700 points combined.

Former Crows and SA coach Graham Cornes took Sharks training last night and gave the side an inspiring talk.
Former Crows forward Ken McGregor will give the side a pre-game rev-up tomorrow before its match against Marion, while Port Adelaide Football Club has got in on the act.
The Power is trying to set up an Adelaide Oval curtain-raiser between the Sharks and fellow local battler Kilburn, on May 10. The match would be followed by Port’s blockbuster against Fremantle.
Aldinga president Danny Wilde said the club was buzzing after the Crawford announcement.
“It’s unbelievable, we are pumped,’’ he said.
“It’s terrific by the Footy Show and Shane. It’s going to get boys on the track and give us a huge boost because we’re talking about the chance to play footy with Shane Crawford for a game and the chance to play a game on Adelaide Oval.
“These are once-in-a-lifetime opportunities at this level.”
