A Goolwa Beach man has faced court for deceiving three people into handing over more than $65,000.

Paul Anthony Sherry, 57, has pleaded guilty to 23 counts of deceiving another person to benefit himself.

Court documents show the offences occurred at Seaford Heights between February 2018 and May 2019.

The amounts range from $500 to $15,300.

“(He) deceived (the victim) and by doing so dishonestly benefited himself,” the documents said.

Defence lawyer Wayne Carlin said Sherry was unable to appear at the Christies Beach Magistrates Court this week due to “serious medical issues”.

He will face court in December.
