An unassuming South Plympton home has become the centre of an alleged brothel raid, finding multiple workers and clients.
Jianzhen Li appeared in the Adelaide Magistrate Court on Friday, charged with two counts of receiving money paid in a brothel.
The court heard police had received information a brothel was in operation in South Plympton in December of 2022.
“Police entered the address and located Ms Li and another woman at the address,” the prosecutor said.
“A search of the premises located a large amount of condoms, wipes, lotion and lubricants in numerous bedrooms.
“Police also located a male at the address who made admission to attending for sexual services.”
Police also allegedly found $150 in cash as well as another female in a second bedroom with an unknown male, who told police he had paid $200 for a massage followed by sexual intercourse.
“She (Li) understood from a previous visit by police that providing sexual services for money isn’t allowed,” the prosecutor said.
The court heard after receiving further information, police made a booking at the South Plympton home.
It is alleged upon arrival the police officer was propositioned with a massage followed by sexual intercourse in exchange for $130.
Ms Li had agreed to plead guilty, however Magistrate Simon Smart said the prosecution’s case was unclear and could not make a distinction between the two charges.
“I am going to give a further date a time so police can work out if there needs to be one file or two,” he said.
Ms Li will appear in court next month.
