A young mother has recalled the moment she went’ berserk’ prompting her to throw at least 30 rocks at her neighbours before threatening to harm their dog.

Jacinta Robbin Sylvia Karpany pleaded guilty to a number of charges in the Victor Harbor Magistrate Court on Tuesday, including threatening to damage property.

“Ms Karpany shares a fence with an industrial business, she was throwing stones and rocks over the fence causing damage to a vehicle,” the police prosector said.

“It was estimated to be between 20 to 30 rocks, there were also threats to harm the neighbours dog who was also present.”

The court heard an estimated $300 worth of damage was done to the vehicle.

When asked about the circumstances, Karpany said she just simply went ‘berserk’.

“The issue had happened in the morning and it dragged out until the afternoon,” she said.

“It was around 4pm when someone from their side began throwing the rocks and I was in the backyard with my daughter.

Jacinta Karpany also pleaded guilty to two charges of driving disqualified.

“By that point I had absolutely lost it and gone berserk.”

The court heard the issue arouse from water damage from the neighbouring properties water tanks overflowing into Karpany’s property.

“Every winter we deal with the flooding around and in the shed … we’ve had a lot of stuff damaged from it,” she said.

“I had emailed them asking to attend to them and fix them and I got no reply until that day.”

The mother-of-two also pleaded guilty to two driving while disqualified charges.

“What you did was completely inappropriate and it was the wrong way to respond, it can’t be repeated,” Magistrate Gregory Fisher said.

Karpany was sentenced to a short term of imprisonment of seven days, suspended on a good behaviour bond of six months.
