A teenage mechanic from Adelaide’s south was found lying in a pool of his own urine, tripping on LSD before biting a female police officer on her knee.

Hayden Moore, 18, pleaded guilty to three counts of assaulting police at Christies Beach Magistrate Court on Tuesday.

A police prosecutor the court heard just after 11pm on September 4, police were called to the Marion Hotel after reports a man allegedly assaulted a worker.

“Police approached the defendant who was laying on his stomach on the west side of the car park, in a pool of urine,” they said.

The prosecutor also explained Moore refused several attempts by police to restrain him.

“While trying to affect the arrest, the female police officer was kneeling to the right side of the defendant, when he opened his mouth and moved his head towards her knee in an attempt to bite her,” said the police prosecutor.

The court heard Moore continued to resist the arrest this time attempting to punch another police officer with his right hand, but no contact was made.

Police were able to restrain the 18 year-old on the ground once again with assistance from the hotel staff.

“While the defendant was on the ground he bit the female officer on the knee, causing instant pain,” the police prosecutor said.

Moore was arrested and spent eight hours in custody.

Russell Cole, for Moore, said the teen felt ashamed of his action and he was feeling the effects of an LSD trip at the time of the assault.

“It was himself and his three mates, drinking in the hotel room and at some point he was offered some LSD from a friend with the idea to have a trip,” Mr Cole said.

“Alcohol doesn’t have a role to play in this as he only had two vodka Cruisers.

“He agrees he was peer pressured by his mates.”

Mr Cole argued for no convictions to be recorded due to Moore having no prior history.

Magistrate Lynette Duncan placed Moore on a two-year good behaviour bond.
