Family farmhouse in Willunga South to undergo revamp into accommodation retreat

A farmhouse set among vineyards in Adelaide’s south would be redeveloped into a luxury retreat for guests to “take advantage of the amazing views”.

Tourist accommodation and a swimming pool will be built at a popular family vineyard in Adelaide’s south under a proposal by its two owners.

Nobull Family Farmhouse, about 2km from Willunga, would undergo a massive transformation into a luxury retreat for up to six guests, including construction of four bedrooms and a double garage.

A report published by SustainaBuilding says the tourist accommodation – surrounded by vineyards – at the Willunga South property would be managed by the owners.

“The proposed development involves the demolition of the existing dwelling on the northeastern side of the allotment,” the report said.

“The existing ancillary accommodation to the west of the demolished dwelling will be converted to tourist accommodation for up to six guests.

“A new dwelling, swimming pool and outbuilding are proposed in the location to take advantage of the amazing views.”

The conversion of the existing farmhouse to tourism accommodation will be accessible to all people, and is “sufficiently separated” from the new dwelling.

A new driveway from Colville Road is proposed on the eastern end of the site, with two rows of vineyards to be removed to create room.
