An alleged drug trafficker from Christies Beach has copped a spray from a local magistrate who said the woman was treating home detention like a “party room”.

Claire Louise Henderson, 26, is currently on home detention bail while charged with selling a controlled drug in March this year.

The Christies Beach Magistrates Court heard Henderson wanted to vary her bail address to allow her to move out of her father’s home into her own home but had recently failed a Department of Corrections drug test.

Magistrate Susan O’Connor slammed the “ridiculous” request.

“She’s into party drugs, she uses them everyday and she’s supposed to be on home detention,” Ms O’Connor said.

“She’s treating it like a party room.

“She appears to have complete disregard for any restrictions placed upon her, she has pending matters before the court for similar charges.

“She’s up to her eyeballs in criminal activity and she is perilously close to the women’s prison.”

The court heard Henderson had been charged with selling methamphetamine and GHB at Bedford Park earlier this year while in possession of ice pipes, methamphetamine and prohibited weapons.

Ms O’Connor said at the time, Henderson was put into custody for three weeks with a “raging drug habit”.

“She was psychotic (because) she used so much drugs,” she said.

“Think about the community sitting behind me asking what are you doing in criminal courts to allow these people who do so much harm due to the fact the whole drug trafficking trade means that you’re a parasite and preying on the misfortunes of other people.

“Your only interest in life is getting cheap money, cheap drugs and a cheap fix.”

Defence lawyer Peter Hill withdrew the application to vary bail.

Henderson will face court again in December.
