Hardware giant Bunnings has opened a $29 million store at Reynella.
The new Panalatinga Rd store, which opened today, spans more than 14,000sq m and includes six kitchen displays, six bathroom/laundry displays, a nursery, a cafe, a playground along with nearly 300 car parks.
More than 100 staff will be employed at Bunnings Reynella with 85 new positions having been created and the rest having transferred from other stores.
Reynella complex manager Mark Guster said the team was looking forward to being part of the local community and providing residents with the widest range of home improvement
and outdoor living products.
“Team members have already worked together to assist in local community projects such as a garden revamp with communal seating at Neporendi Aboriginal Forum Inc,” Mr Guster said.
“We’ve completed a mural, sensory wall and painting at Reynella Community Children’s Centre, as well as installing garden beds and worm farms at Reynella Primary School.
“We’ve also been teaching the kids at Reynella Primary about the benefits of worm farms and how to properly maintain them.
“We’re always looking for opportunities to contribute to local causes and look forward to providing further assistance to more community groups in the future, as well as hosting community groups for the famous sausage sizzle fundraiser.”
The Wesfarmers-owned company confirmed to The Advertiser it would open a store on Sir Donald Bradman Drive in the warehouse once occupied by Woolworths-backed Masters Home Improvement.
Work has begun on a $15 million redevelopment of the site, opposite Ikea, with the new 13,000sq m shop set to open mid next year.
