Life in Adelaide as seen through your lens: we want you to take part in our first #SnapAdelaide

WE want to know what you love about where you live — and for you to capture it on camera, so we can share with others what makes Adelaide so, well, Adelaide. Find out more about #SnapAdelaide here.

WE want to know what you love about where you live.

Whether it is watching the sunset over our stunning coastline, enjoying a picnic with family at the Botanic Gardens or hiking through one of our national parks, we want you to share photos of what makes your community special.

Messenger Community News today launches its SnapAdelaide campaign, which aims to bring the community together to celebrate what we love about our city.

The event will culminate in a national day of action on Wednesday, November 16, where readers, our journalists and photographers will snap and share photos.

We want to know how Messenger readers spend their days, like Paula Norman, of Hawthorn, who captured this image on her iPhone of her son, Edward, 6, giving her flowers from the East End Flower Market.

“It is about buying local and discovering the city,” Mrs Norman, 41, says.

“Edward and his dad bought them for me. Overall, I suppose what I want to do is capture my boys growing up and (using an iPhone) is a quick, easy way to make sure I can do that.”

So on SnapAdelaide day, we’re inviting you to share your favourite moment or a slice of your life in pictures, hashtagging #SnapAdelaide and then posting via Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. (Don’t forget to fiddle with your Facebook privacy settingsso we can see your fabulous photos.)

But you don’t need to wait until November 16 to start.

From today, we want to know how you — or your street, city or suburb — wakes up. So let’s get together to make this year’s SnapAdelaide a South Australian success story. All you need to do is start snapping.
