SA’s longest serving franchisee Mark Dutschke reveals how you can get a job at one of his McDonald’s restaurants

They some if some thing’s not broken, don’t try to fix it, which is exactly the case with South Australia’s longest serving McDonald’s franchisee Mark Dutschke.

Starting as a crew person when McDonald’s Enfield opened its doors back in 1977 Mark became a franchisee in 1992.

Fast forward four decades, Mr Dutschke now operates three franchises in Reynella, Happy Valley and Hallett Cove after purchasing the store earlier in the year, Mr Dutschke is looking to employee over 80 people across his three sites.

“It’s now my 44th year with the company and it’s the only thing I have ever done,” Mr Dutschke reflected.

“If a young person is going for a job and they have McDonald’s on their resume, a lot of employers understand our systems and take notice of that,” he said.

“Other guys really make a career out of it, some go on to own their own business and use the skills they’ve honed here.

“We need everyone from after school kids through to manager through to night crew, it’s a great place for young people to start.”

With the fast food restaurant celebrating it’s 50h year on Australian shores, Mr Dutschke wishes to remain involved with the company for as long as he can.

“I’m still loving it after 44 years,” he laughed

“Our systems and our training are second to none and I’m excited for a new generation to come through.”
