South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula’s 10 most beautiful stays to remind us just how good our state is

In need of a getaway but can’t keep up with border closures and restrictions? Keep it local and book a stay at one of these hidden gems in our great, Covid-safe state.

Border exemptions frustrate thousands of stranded Aussies overseas

Being the model, law-abiding citizens we are in South Australia, we’ve overcome another Covid-19 outbreak.

But with our interstate cousins not as lucky as us – and border restrictions in place with some of the top winter holiday destinations – we’ve put together some options in our own backyard.

From stays right in town in Port Lincoln, to experience the incredible seafood and relaxed (and largely crowdless at the moment) seaside town, to more remote and tranquil getaways.

We’ve compiled what we believe to be some of the most beautiful accommodation, tucked away in SA’s dreamy Eyre Peninsula.

Tanonga Eco Lodges, Charlton Gulley

Twenty minutes north of Port Lincoln, nestled among regenerating forest lay two luxury eco-lodges on 96ha of protected land.

These 5-star, luxury accommodations boast both environmental sustainability and picturesque landscapes.

Equipped with hiking trails, wildlife, tranquillity and the ultimate Instagrammable sunset opportunities with panoramic views of the ocean, it’s total luxury without the guilt.

Camel Beach House, Mt Camel Beach

On a small strip of private beach lies Camel Beach House, a rustic, conservational homestay where you fall asleep and wake only to the sounds of the Southern Ocean.

Perfectly private, calming and comfortable; a place to truly immerse yourself in nature and bare all.

Visitors include (but are not limited to) the Australian Sea Lion, White Bellied Sea Eagle and the Southern Right Whale.

Port Lincoln Hotel, Port Lincoln
