Peter Teakle Wines will reveal its brand new redeveloped cellar door to the public this Saturday following a spectacular $3 million upgrade.

Constructed by local architect Kym Clarke, the cellar door located on Whillas Road, resembles the shape of a wine barrel and is supported by more than three kilometres of timber work.

TeakCorp managing director Ben Teakle said the recently eased restrictions would help the people of Port Lincoln and surrounds to enjoy the winery’s latest endeavour.

“We are booked out for this weekend which is really exciting,” Mr Teakle said.

“Customers can expect a more personalised experience with platers and wine from our wine label.”

With only a 50-person capacity, wine fanatics will be able to be educated by head winemaker Liz Heidenreich while paring it with locally sourced food, with the menu created by chef Johnathan Sweet.

While the state of the art experience will undoubtedly blow anyone away, Mr Teakle admitted some things had to be juggled due to COVID.

“It affected us as much as everyone, it’s limited the space we have had available we were looking at only being able to have 25 people and it limited the tasting experience which is now seated,” he said.

“We decided to make things a little more personalised to cover that but now it’s back to the 1 per two square metre rule more people will be able to come in and enjoy the beautiful views.”

It has been almost three years since the Teakle’s opened their restaurant The Line and Label, continuing the solidify Port Lincoln as must see for anyone travelling around South Australia.

“We expect the first few weekends to be booked out which is great to see,” said Mr Teakle.
