Tumby Bay is one of three regional spots to host the Illuminate festival, with art and light installations from local artists and designers set to grace town.
The ‘Big Picture Series x Colour Tumby’ event is a 12-day long festival kicking off Friday evening.
Tumby Bay is no stranger to hosting events with a series of unique festivals held in the town annually including the Guitar Festival and Colour Tumby Street Art Festival.
Tumby Bay CEO Rebecca Hayes is excited to bring another event to the local community and encourages neighbouring Eyre Peninsula residents to attend.
Ms Hayes says the SA Tourism Commission-supported festival is giving Tumby Bay the recognition it deserves.
“It really reflects the fabulous work the Tumby Progress Associations has done with Colour Tumby over the years and puts us on the map in terms of street art,” she said.
The free, family friendly and Covid-safe festival will operate in and around various businesses and landmarks throughout the town from 6-9pm every night.
The Tumby Bay Hotel (Red Roof) will host both Saturday nights (August 14 and 21) with live music, food and fire pits, while The District Council of Tumby Bay host ‘Family Fun @ The Square’ with bouncy castles, face painting and Illuminates famous ‘neon dog park’.
The event runs from Friday, August 13 to August 21. More information is available at www.illuminateadelaide.com.
