Two Paralowie R-12 School mums say their daughters were assaulted

Two Adelaide mothers say they fear for their children’s safety after a gang of students targeted them, as video emerges of an unrelated brawl just a week later.

Paralowie High School fight videos emerge

Two young girls have been allegedly assaulted in separate attacks by a group of Paralowie R-12 School students as video emerges of a teacher being forced to intervene in an unrelated fight.

The mother of one of the girls, aged 15, told The Messenger her daughter was catching a train at Elizabeth train station on Monday last week when she was attacked by five young girls while a sixth filmed.

The 15-year-old girl was removed by her mother from the school at the start of the year after she was “taunted nearly every day” and says the alleged attackers are part of a notorious group of serial offenders from her old school.

“My daughter doesn’t attend the school anymore because of this crap but she just got extremely unlucky to bump into these kids outside of school,” the mother said.

The second mother says her 12-year-old daughter was violently assaulted by at least some members of the same group in May.

She says the alleged assault occurred at the school and happened after the group tried to get her daughter to “bash” another student but refused.

“My daughter is constantly tormented by a certain group who took it as far as beating her up a few weeks ago and then tried again last week,” the second mother said.

“A girl grabbed my daughter’s hair and just started punching her and throwing her around like a ragdoll.

“She just doesn’t feel safe anymore at school ... students are absolutely at risk.”

The Education Department was asked whether they were aware of the incidents but did not directly answer.

A department spokeswoman said police were contacted after all “violent incidents” that occur during school hours.

The incidents were reported to SA Police and a spokesman said they were being investigated.

The spokesman confirmed police had CCTV footage of the alleged train station assault.

He did not confirm if any charges had been laid.

It comes after two unrelated fight videos from the school were posted to TikTok on Monday.

One showed a student being floored by a hit to the jaw during a scrap.

The second showed a group of female students fighting while a teacher tried to stop the brawl.

Neither video is implied to be linked to the SA Police investigations.

Data provided by the department showed the school had less recorded assaults resulting in suspension, exclusion or expulsion this year as compared with last year.

In 2021 there were 138 incidents as compared to 85 at the same time this year.

Paralowie R-12 was also engulfed in a disturbing TikTok trend in which sexually explicit images of students were shared and rated on the social media platform.

A department spokeswoman did not respond to questions about whether a security guard has been used at Paralowie.
