An alleged Hells Angels member with a methamphetamine addiction has been ordered to serve his suspended jail sentence in full after he couldn’t kick the habit.

Thomas Wilshire Patterson, 28, was also charged with trafficking drugs last month after approximately 28g of methamphetamine and over $5,000 were allegedly found in his car as part of a shooting investigation.

He and three co-accused are charged with firing shots at a Salisbury North house in an alleged drive-by shooting.

Fellow alleged Hells Angels OMCG member, Thomas Mortiz O’Connor, 30, as well as his girlfriend, Natalie Marie Pilkington, 26, and Patterson’s girlfriend, Lilli Mae Trenerry, 26, are also accused of being involved in the intended act of revenge.

Patterson was convicted in the Adelaide District Court in July 2019 for trafficking methamphetamine.

He was sentenced to a “very merciful” two years and three months jail which was suspended on a three-year good behaviour bond.

During sentencing in the Adelaide District Court last month, the court heard Patterson had breached his bond by avoiding being drug tested and showing little compliance with rehabilitation programs.

Judge Simon Stretton ordered Patterson to serve the suspended jail term in full.

The day prior to being sentenced for breaching his good behaviour bond, Patterson was arrested for the alleged drive-by shooting.

Last month, the Adelaide Magistrates Court heard that three shots from a .38 calibre firearm were fired at a Salisbury North property on November 26.

Trenerry allegedly orchestrated the group to take revenge for her brother.

The police prosecutor told the court that, despite CCTV footage showing the four co-accused at the address of the intended victim originally, they “made a mistake” and moved on to another house where the alleged shooting took place.

Pilkington received a gunshot wound to the thigh during the alleged incident and received treatment at the Lyell McEwin Hospital.

All four co-accused are charged with discharging a firearm to injure, annoy or frighten a person, with the charges adjourned until August.

During Patterson’s sentencing in the Adelaide District Court last month, the court heard he had been given a second chance to re-engage with his supervision, which he did not abide with.

“Where a person who has trafficked to support an addiction then refuses to give up taking drugs and continues with their addiction, the obvious risk of trafficking is a very significant concern,” Judge Stretton said.

The court heard Patterson had still been taking methamphetamine on a fortnightly basis during his good behaviour bond.

“Plan for your release so that the day you get out you won’t go to your mates, who aren’t really your mates, who have been giving you this drug,” Judge Stretton said.

“I want you to plan for that day so that when you get out you do not just flip back into the patterns of how you have behaved to date and be tempted back into methamphetamine because if you do it will wreck your life.”

Patterson has a non-parole period of 13-months.
