Infamous driveway rocker Savas Caruso has stunned onlookers again outside the Elizabeth Magistrates Court before once again refusing to come inside due to mask mandates.
Savas “Subb” Caruso was arrested in his nanna’s driveway in June last year after numerous noise complaints led to him being issued with an environment protection order that he allegedly failed to comply with.
Caruso, 32, attended court on Wednesday, charged with failing to comply with an environment protection order and refusing to provide his name and address to police over noise complaints.
Sitting out the front of the courthouse wearing a native American headdress, Caruso played his Gibson Les Paul guitar through a battery powered amp.
Caruso was due to appear before Magistrate Justin Wickens for a pre-trial conference, however as occurred in August last year, he refused to wear a mask to enter.
“I don’t take fashion tips from nobody,” Caruso, who is also known as the underwear rocker, said.
“I got complaints for live music - can’t blame them man I’m really good.
“I think it’s pissed off some people who are high up who see me and are jealous of my lifestyle.
“I don’t think I’ve pissed off my neighbours at all, they’re using the neighbour as a vehicle.”
Jimi Hendricks, Led Zeppelin and more all featured in Caruso’s midday solo performance to passing prosecutors, police and defendants at the courthouse.
One court sheriff, who did not wish to be named, said “he’s not bad at all.”
Caruso will be listed to appear in court again in June.
