An alleged commercial drug trafficker has been told by a magistrate to dress more modestly for her next court appearance.

Dressed in a black mini skirt, a low-cut top and high heels, Sanja Parenta, 38, appeared in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday to change her bail address to Greenwith.

“Can I just say this to you Ms Parenta? Sometimes it’s not obvious to people and they don’t have information about what’s appropriate to wear in court,” Magistrate Jayanthi McGrath said.

“A little bit of modesty really is more appropriate.”

Ms McGrath said she was concerned with Parenta application for a new bail address as it was where the alleged commercial trafficking occurred.

“The property was raided by SAPOL with drugs, firearms and ammunition found,” she said.

Parenta, of Greenwith, is charged with trafficking in a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug and dishonestly receiving property without consent after a raid occurred on October 13.

She is yet to enter any pleas.

Parenta’s lawyer told the court that Parenta had been informed by property managers she was allowed to live back at the house until January 25.

“She can return to that housing to the completion of the lease,” Parenta’s lawyer said.

“That will then give her some time to arrange alternative accommodation that will be more long term.”

Ms McGrath said she wanted a comprehensive bail inquiry report to determine whether the housing would be suitable.

“Obviously there are some concerns about the address,” she said.

The bail application was adjourned until Monday.
