The centre would cater for 88 preschool-aged children, be open from 6.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday, and employ 14 staff with 21 carparking spaces.

Two houses, and “a number of trees” which are neither significant or regulated, would be bulldozed for the development which will be assessed by Salisbury Council.

Plans include a sensory path, reading bench, hammock, “hidey hole”, fairy garden, pull up bar, car cubby, mini cubby and a water creek with fountain.

Nido already has 12 centres across the state – including locations in Salisbury Downs, Blakeview, Elizabeth Vale, Golden Grove and Golden Grove North – with approved plans for a thirteenth centre in Redwood Park.

“Given the relatively modest amenity of the existing site and surrounding locality, the proposed child care centre will add to the amenity of the area.”

The company has a particular focus on pupils “exploring life through nature and encouraging respect for our broader environment” with an “inclusive village-style approach”, according to its website.
